Mark 9:35
ಆಗ ಆತನು ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡು ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಮೊದಲಿನವನಾಗಬೇ ಕೆಂದು ಇಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟರೆ ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತ ಕಡೆಯ ವನೂ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಸೇವಕನೂ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು.

ಇವನೇ ಫರಿಸಾಯನಿಗಿಂತ ನೀತಿವಂತನೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ವನಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋದನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವನು ಮತ್ತು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವನು ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.

ಆತನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದ ಕೃಪೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದದರಿಂದ--ದೇವರು ಅಹಂಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸು ತ್ತಾನೆ, ದೀನರಿಗಾದರೋ ಕೃಪೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸು ತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಆತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
