ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಬಿಳಾಮನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದನು; ಅವನು ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನನ್ನೂ ಆತನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಿಚ್ಚು ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿ ಬೋರಲು ಬಿದ್ದನು.
