ಕೀರ್ತನೆಗಳು 8:2
ಶತ್ರುವನ್ನೂ ಮುಯ್ಯಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ಕೊಡುವವನನ್ನೂ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿಬಿಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ವೈರಿಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಶಿಶುಗಳ ಮತ್ತು ಮೊಲೆ ಕೂಸುಗಳ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೀ.
0 A Song of degrees.
1 Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
3 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

| thine enemies, | צוֹרְרֶ֑יךָ | ṣôrĕrêkā | tsoh-reh-RAY-ha |
| still mightest thou that | לְהַשְׁבִּ֥ית | lĕhašbît | leh-hahsh-BEET |
| the enemy | א֝וֹיֵ֗ב | ʾôyēb | OH-YAVE |
| and the avenger. | וּמִתְנַקֵּֽם׃ | ûmitnaqqēm | oo-meet-na-KAME |
