Leviticus 24:16
ಕರ್ತನ ನಾಮವನ್ನು ದೂಷಣೆ ಮಾಡುವವನಿಗೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಮರಣವನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಸಭೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆಯಬೇಕು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದೇಶದೊಳಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಪರಕೀಯನು ಕರ್ತನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ದೂಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಅವನನ್ನು ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.

Exodus 20:7
ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತಬಾರದು. ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತುವವನನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿ ಯೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
