Leviticus 9:9
ಆಗ ಆರೋನನ ಕುಮಾರರು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ತಂದರು; ಅವನು ಆ ರಕ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಬೆರಳನ್ನು ಅದ್ದಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಕೊಂಬು ಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಚ್ಚಿದನು; ಉಳಿದ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಯ್ದನು.

ಯಾಜಕನು ತನ್ನ ಬೆರಳನ್ನು ರಕ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸ್ಥಳದ ಪರದೆಯ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಆ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಏಳು ಸಾರಿ ಚಿಮುಕಿಸಬೇಕು.

ಆ ಯಾಜಕನು ತನ್ನ ಬೆರಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ರಕ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ, ಅಂದರೆ ಪರದೆಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಏಳುಸಾರಿ ಚಿಮುಕಿಸಬೇಕು.
