Psalm 4
1 ನನ್ನ ನೀತಿಯಾದ ಓ ದೇವರೇ, ನಾನು ಮೊರೆಯಿಡಲು ನನಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡು, ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ವಿಶಾಲಮಾಡಿದಿ. ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರುಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳು.
2 ಓ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಪುತ್ರರೇ, ನನ್ನ ಘನವನ್ನು ಅವ ಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸುವದು ಎಷ್ಟರ ವರೆಗೆ? ನೀವು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿ ಸುಳ್ಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕು ವದು ಎಷ್ಟರ ವರೆಗೆ? ಸೆಲಾ.
3 ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ಭಕ್ತನನ್ನು ತನಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ನಾನು ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಮೊರೆಯಿಡಲು ಆತನು ಕೇಳುವನು.
4 ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಿರ್ರಿ; ಪಾಪಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಹಾಸಿಗೆ ಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಮೌನವಾಗಿರ್ರಿ. ಸೆಲಾ.
5 ನೀತಿಯ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿ ಸಿರಿ; ಕರ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಭರವಸವಿಡಿರಿ.
6 ನಮಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವರು ಯಾರೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವವರು ಅನೇಕರು. ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಖದ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಗೊಳಿಸು.
7 ಅವರ ಧಾನ್ಯವೂ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿದ ಕಾಲಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕ ವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀ.
8 ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಮಲಗಿ ನಿದ್ರೆ ಸಹ ಮಾಡುವೆನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನೀನೋಬ್ಬನೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸುರ ಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ. 5

2 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
3 O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.
4 But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.
5 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
6 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
7 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.
8 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.
9 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.
1 And the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days’ journey.
4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
