ബേത്ത്ളേഹെംപട്ടണവാതിൽക്കലെ കിണറ്റിൽനിന്നു വെള്ളം എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ ആർ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തരും എന്നു ദാവീദ് ആർത്തിപൂണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു.

longed,	וַיִּתְאָ֥ו	ʾāwâ	ah-VA
And David	דָּוִ֖יד	dāwid	da-VEED
and said,	וַיֹּאמַ֑ר	ʾāmar	ah-MAHR
Oh that	מִ֚י	mî	mee
one would give me drink	יַשְׁקֵ֣נִי	šāqâ	sha-KA
of the water	מַ֔יִם	mayim	ma-YEEM
of the well	מִבּ֥וֹר	bôr	bore
	בֵּֽית
of Bethlehem,	לֶ֖חֶם	bêt leḥem	bate leh-HEM
that	אֲשֶׁ֥ר	ʾăšer	uh-SHER
at the gate!	בַּשָּֽׁעַר׃	šaʿar	sha-AR
