അങ്ങനെ ശൌൽ ദൈവത്തോടു: ഞാൻ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ പിന്തുടരേണമോ? നീ അവരെ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കുമോ എന്നു അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ അന്നു അവന്നു അരുളപ്പാടു ലഭിച്ചില്ല.

Shall I go down הַֽאֵרֵד֙ yārad ya-RAHD
after אַֽחֲרֵ֣י ʾaḥar ah-HAHR
the Philistines? פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים pĕlištî peh-leesh-TEE
wilt thou deliver הֲתִתְּנֵ֖ם nātan na-TAHN
them into the hand בְּיַ֣ד yād yahd
of Israel? יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל yiśrāʾēl yees-ra-ALE
him not וְלֹ֥א lōʾ loh
But he answered עָנָ֖הוּ ʿānâ ah-NA
day. בַּיּ֥וֹם yôm yome
that הַהֽוּא׃ hûʾ hoo
