1 Samuel 18 - DBY (Malayalam)

1 And it came to pass, when he had ended speaking to Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.അവൻ ശൌലിനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു തീർന്നപ്പോൾ യോനാഥാന്റെ മനസ്സു ദാവീദിന്റെ മനസ്സോടു പറ്റിച്ചേർന്നു; യോനാഥാൻ അവനെ സ്വന്തപ്രാണനെപ്പോലെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു.

2 And Saul took him that day, and would not let him return to his father's house.ശൌൽ അന്നു അവനെ ചേർത്തു കൊണ്ടു; അവന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുവാൻ പിന്നെ അനുവദിച്ചതുമില്ല.

3 And Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.യോനാഥാൻ ദാവീദിനെ സ്വന്തപ്രാണനെപ്പോലെ സ്നേഹിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവനുമായി സഖ്യതചെയ്തു.

4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his dress, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.യോനാഥാൻ താൻ ധരിച്ചിരുന്ന മേലങ്കി ഊരി അതും തന്റെ വസ്ത്രവും വാളും വില്ലും അരക്കച്ചയും ദാവീദിന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

5 And David went forth; whithersoever Saul sent him he prospered; and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul's servants.ശൌൽ അയക്കുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും ദാവീദ് പോയി കാര്യാദികളെ വിവേകത്തോടെ നടത്തും; അതുകൊണ്ടു ശൌൽ അവനെ പടജ്ജനത്തിന്നു മേധാവി ആക്കി; ഇതു സർവ്വജനത്തിന്നും ശൌലിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർക്കും ബോധിച്ചു.

6 And it came to pass as they came, when David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tambours, with joy, and with triangles.ദാവീദ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യനെ സംഹരിച്ചശേഷം അവർ മടങ്ങിവരുമ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേല്യപട്ടണങ്ങളിൽനിന്നൊക്കെയും സ്ത്രീകൾ പാടിയും നൃത്തംചെയ്തുംകൊണ്ടു തപ്പും തംബുരുവുമായി സന്തോഷത്തോടെ ശൌൽരാജാവിനെ എതിരേറ്റുചെന്നു.

7 And the women answered [one another] as they played, and said, Saul hath smitten his thousands, And David his ten thousands.സ്ത്രീകൾ വാദ്യഘോഷത്തോടെ ഗാനപ്രതിഗാനമായി: ശൌൽ ആയിരത്തെ കൊന്നു ദാവീദോ പതിനായിരത്തെ എന്നു പാടി.

8 And Saul was very wroth, and that saying was evil in his sight; and he said, They have ascribed to David ten thousands, but to me they have ascribed the thousands; and [what] is there more for him but the kingdom?അപ്പോൾ ശൌൽ ഏറ്റവും കോപിച്ചു; ഈ വാക്കു അവന്നു അനിഷ്ടമായി: അവർ ദാവീദിന്നു പതിനായിരം കൊടുത്തു എനിക്കു ആയിരം മാത്രമേ തന്നുള്ളു; ഇനി രാജത്വമല്ലാതെ അവന്നു കിട്ടുവാൻ എന്തുള്ളു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

9 And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.അന്നുമുതൽ ശൌലിന്നു ദാവീദിനോടു കണ്ണുകടി തുടങ്ങി.

10 And it came to pass the next day that an evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house, but David played with his hand, as on other days; and the spear was in Saul's hand.പിറ്റെന്നാൾ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പക്കൽ നിന്നുള്ള ദുരാത്മാവു ശൌലിന്മേൽ വന്നു; അവൻ അരമനക്കകത്തു ഉറഞ്ഞുപറഞ്ഞു; ദാവീദോ പതിവുപോലെ കിന്നരം വായിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; ശൌലിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഒരു കുന്തം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

11 And Saul cast the spear, and thought, I will smite David and the wall. But David turned away from him twice.ദാവീദിനെ ചുവരോടുചേർത്തു കുത്തുവാൻ വിചാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ശൌൽ കുന്തം ചാടി; എന്നാൽ ദാവീദ് രണ്ടു പ്രാവശ്യം അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു മാറിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

12 And Saul was afraid of David, because Jehovah was with him, and had departed from Saul.യഹോവ ദാവീദിനോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കയും ശൌലിനെ വിട്ടുമാറുകയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു ശൌൽ ദാവീദിനെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

13 And Saul removed him from him, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people.അതുകൊണ്ടു ശൌൽ അവനെ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു മാറ്റി സഹസ്രാധിപനാക്കി; അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ജനത്തിന്നു നായകനായി പെരുമാറിപ്പോന്നു.

14 And David prospered in all his ways; and Jehovah was with him.ദാവീദ് തന്റെ എല്ലാവഴികളിലും വിവേകത്തോടെ നടന്നു; യഹോവ അവനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

15 And Saul saw that he prospered well, and he stood in awe of him.അവൻ ഏറ്റവും വിവേകത്തോടെ നടക്കുന്നു എന്നു ശൌൽ കണ്ടിട്ടു അവങ്കൽ ആശങ്കിതനായ്തീർന്നു.

16 But all Israel and Judah loved David, for he went out and came in before them.എന്നാൽ ദാവീദ് യിസ്രായേലിന്നും യെഹൂദെക്കും നായകനായി പെരുമാറിയതുകൊണ്ടു അവരൊക്കെയും അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു.

17 And Saul said to David, Behold my eldest daughter Merab, her will I give thee to wife; only be thou valiant for me, and fight Jehovah's battles. But Saul thought, My hand shall not be upon him, but the hand of the Philistines shall be upon him.അനന്തരം ശൌൽ ദാവീദിനോടു: എന്റെ മൂത്ത മകൾ മേരബുണ്ടല്ലോ; ഞാൻ അവളെ നിനക്കു ഭാര്യയായി തരും; നീ ശൂരനായി എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി യഹോവയുടെ യുദ്ധങ്ങൾ നടത്തിയാൽ മതി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എന്റെ കയ്യല്ല ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ കൈ അവന്റെമേൽ വീഴുവാൻ സംഗതിവരട്ടെ എന്നു ശൌൽ വിചാരിച്ചു.

18 And David said to Saul, Who am I? and what is my life, [or] my father's family in Israel, that I should be son-in-law to the king?ദാവീദ്, ശൌലിനോടു: രാജാവിന്റെ മരുമകനായിരിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ ആർ? യിസ്രായേലിൽ എന്റെ അസ്മാദികളും എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനവും എന്തുള്ളു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19 And it came to pass at the time when Merab Saul's daughter should have been given to David, that she was given to Adriel the Meholathite as wife.ശൌലിന്റെ മകളായ മേരബിനെ ദാവീദിന്നു കൊടുക്കേണ്ടിയിരുന്ന സമയത്തു അവളെ മെഹോലാത്യനായ അദ്രിയേലിന്നു ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു.

20 And Michal Saul's daughter loved David; and they told Saul, and the thing was right in his sight.ശൌലിന്റെ മകളായ മീഖളോ ദാവീദിനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു. അതു ശൌലിന്നു അറിവു കിട്ടി; കാര്യം അവന്നു ഇഷ്ടമായി.

21 And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be upon him. And Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son-in-law a second time.അവൾ അവന്നു ഒരു കണിയായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ കൈ അവന്റെമേൽ വീഴേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞാൻ അവളെ അവന്നു കൊടുക്കും എന്നു ശൌൽ വിചാരിച്ചു ദാവീദിനോടു: നീ ഈ രണ്ടാം പ്രാവശ്യം എനിക്കു മരുമകനായി തീരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22 And Saul commanded his servants, Speak with David secretly, saying, Behold, the king has delight in thee, and all his servants love thee: now therefore be the king's son-in-law.പിന്നെ ശൌൽ തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ സ്വകാര്യമായി ദാവീദിനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു: ഇതാ, രാജാവിന്നു നിന്നെ പ്രിയമാകുന്നു; അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ ഒക്കെയും നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാൽ നീ രാജാവിന്റെ മരുമകനായ്തീരേണം എന്നു പറവിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

23 And Saul's servants spoke those words in the ears of David. And David said, Is it a light thing in your eyes to be the king's son-in-law, seeing that I am a poor man, and lightly esteemed?ശൌലിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ ആ വാക്കു ദാവീദിനോടു പറഞ്ഞാറെ ദാവീദ്: രാജാവിന്റെ മരുമകനാകുന്നതു അല്പകാര്യമെന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു തോന്നുന്നുവോ? ഞാൻ ദരിദ്രനും എളിയവനും ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24 And the servants of Saul told him, saying, On this manner did David speak.ശൌലിന്റെ ദൃത്യന്മാർ: ദാവീദ് ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

25 And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David: The king does not desire any dowry, but a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.അതിന്നു ശൌൽ: രാജാവിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കൾക്കു പ്രതികാരം ആകുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ നൂറു അഗ്രചർമ്മമല്ലാതെ രാജാവു യാതൊരു സ്ത്രീധനവും ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ ദാവീദിനോടു പറയേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ കയ്യാൽ ദാവീദിനെ വീഴുമാറാക്കേണമെന്നു ശൌൽ കരുതിയിരുന്നു.

26 And his servants told David these words; and the thing was right in David's sight to be the king's son-in-law. And the days were not expired,ഭൃത്യന്മാർ ദാവീദിനോടു ഈ വാക്കു അറിയിച്ചപ്പോൾ രാജാവിന്റെ മരുമകനാകുവാൻ ദാവീദിന്നു സന്തോഷമായി;

27 when David arose and went, he and his men, and smote of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they delivered them in full to the king, that he might be the king's son-in-law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter as wife.അവധി കഴിയുന്നതിന്നു മുമ്പെ ദാവീദും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും പുറപ്പെട്ടുചെന്നു ഫെലിസ്ത്യരിൽ ഇരുനൂറു പേരെ കൊന്നു, അവരുടെ അഗ്രചർമ്മംകൊണ്ടുവന്നു താൻ രാജാവിന്റെ മരുമകനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു രാജാവിന്നു എണ്ണം കൊടുത്തു. ശൌൽ തന്റെ മകളായ മീഖളിനെ അവന്നു ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു.

28 And Saul saw and knew that Jehovah was with David; and Michal Saul's daughter loved him.യഹോവ ദാവീദിനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടെന്നും ശൌലിന്റെ മകളായ മീഖൾ അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു എന്നും ശൌൽ കണ്ടറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ,

29 And Saul was yet the more afraid of David; and Saul was David's enemy continually.ശൌൽ ദാവീദിനെ പിന്നെയും അധികം ഭയപ്പെട്ടു; ശൌൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ നിത്യശത്രുവായ്തീർന്നു.

30 And the princes of the Philistines went forth; and it came to pass, whenever they went forth, that David succeeded better than all the servants of Saul; and his name was much esteemed.എന്നാൽ ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവർ പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോഴൊക്കെയും ദാവീദ് ശൌലിന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരെക്കാളും കൃതാർത്ഥനായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ പേർ വിശ്രുതമായ്തീർന്നു.
