1 Samuel 28:16
അതിന്നു ശമൂവേൽ പറഞ്ഞതു: ദൈവം നിന്നെ വിട്ടുമാറി നിനക്കു ശത്രുവായ്തീർന്നിരിക്കെ നീ എന്തിന്നു എന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നു?

| Samuel, | שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל | šĕmûʾēl | sheh-moo-ALE |
| Wherefore | וְלָ֖מָּה | wĕlāmmâ | veh-LA-ma |
| ask thou dost then | תִּשְׁאָלֵ֑נִי | tišʾālēnî | teesh-ah-LAY-nee |
| Lord the seeing me, of | וַֽיהוָ֛ה | wayhwâ | vai-VA |
| is departed | סָ֥ר | sār | sahr |
| from | מֵֽעָלֶ֖יךָ | mēʿālêkā | may-ah-LAY-ha |
| become is and thee, | וַיְהִ֥י | wayhî | vai-HEE |
| thine enemy? | עָרֶֽךָ׃ | ʿārekā | ah-REH-ha |
