എന്നാറെയും വിട്ടുമാറുവാൻ അവന്നു മനസ്സായില്ല; അബ്നേർ അവനെ കുന്തംകൊണ്ടു പിറകോട്ടു വയറ്റത്തു കുത്തി; കുന്തം മറുവശത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവൻ അവിടെ തന്നെ വീണു മരിച്ചു. അസാഹേൽ മരിച്ചുകിടന്നേടത്തു വന്നവർ ഒക്കെയും നിന്നുപോയി.

smote וַיַּכֵּ֣הוּ nākâ na-HA
wherefore Abner אַבְנֵר֩ ʾabnēr av-NARE
behind בְּאַֽחֲרֵ֨י ʾaḥar ah-HAHR
with the hinder end of the spear הַֽחֲנִ֜ית ḥănît huh-NEET
him under אֶל ʾēl ale
the fifth הַחֹ֗מֶשׁ ḥōmeš hoh-MESH
came out וַתֵּצֵ֤א yāṣāʾ ya-TSA
that the spear הַֽחֲנִית֙ ḥănît huh-NEET
מֵאַֽחֲרָ֔יו ʾaḥar ah-HAHR
him; and he fell down וַיִּפָּל nāpal na-FAHL
there, שָׁ֖ם šām shahm
and died וַיָּ֣מָת mût moot
in the same place: תַּחְתָּ֑ו taḥat ta-HAHT
and it came to pass, וַיְהִ֡י hāyâ ha-YA
as many כָּל kōl kole
as came הַבָּ֣א bôʾ boh
to אֶל ʾēl ale
the place הַמָּקוֹם֩ māqôm ma-KOME
where אֲשֶׁר ʾăšer uh-SHER
fell down נָ֨פַל nāpal na-FAHL
שָׁ֧ם šām shahm
Asahel עֲשָׂהאֵ֛ל ʿăśohʾēl uh-soh-ALE
and died וַיָּמֹ֖ת mût moot
stood still. וַֽיַּעֲמֹֽדוּ׃ ʿāmad ah-MAHD
