Ezra 9:5
സന്ധ്യായാഗത്തിന്റെ സമയത്തു ഞാൻ എന്റെ ആത്മതപനം വിട്ടു എഴുന്നേറ്റു കീറിയ വസ്ത്രത്തോടും മേലങ്കിയോടും കൂടെ മുട്ടുകുത്തി എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിങ്കലേക്കു കൈ മലർത്തി പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

| and having rent | וּבְקָרְעִ֥י | ûbĕqorʿî | oo-veh-kore-EE |
| my garment | בִגְדִ֖י | bigdî | veeɡ-DEE |
| mantle, my and | וּמְעִילִ֑י | ûmĕʿîlî | oo-meh-ee-LEE |
| I fell | וָֽאֶכְרְעָה֙ | wāʾekrĕʿāh | va-ek-reh-AH |
| upon | עַל | ʿal | al |
| my knees, | בִּרְכַּ֔י | birkay | beer-KAI |
| out spread and | וָֽאֶפְרְשָׂ֥ה | wāʾeprĕśâ | va-ef-reh-SA |
| my hands | כַפַּ֖י | kappay | ha-PAI |
| unto | אֶל | ʾel | el |
| the Lord | יְהוָ֥ה | yĕhwâ | yeh-VA |
