Genesis 47
1 അങ്ങനെ യോസേഫ് ചെന്നു: എന്റെ അപ്പനും സഹോദരന്മാരും അവരുടെ ആടുകളും കന്നുകാലികളും അവർക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും കനാൻ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു വന്നു; ഗോശെൻ ദേശത്തു ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഫറവോനെ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
2 പിന്നെ അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിൽ അഞ്ചുപേരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു ഫറവോന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിർത്തി.
3 അപ്പോൾ ഫറവോൻ അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരോടു: നിങ്ങളുടെ തൊഴിൽ എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവർ ഫറവോനോടു: അടിയങ്ങളും അടിയങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും ഇടയന്മാരാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4 ദേശത്തു താമസിപ്പാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; കനാൻ ദേശത്തു ക്ഷാമം കഠിനമായിരിക്കയാൽ അടിയങ്ങളുടെ ആടുകൾക്കു മേച്ചലില്ല; അടിയങ്ങൾ ഗോശെൻ ദേശത്തു പാർത്തുകൊള്ളട്ടെ എന്നും അവർ ഫറവോനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
5 ഫറവോൻ യോസേഫിനോടു: നിന്റെ അപ്പനും സഹോദരന്മാരും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
6 മിസ്രയീംദേശം നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ദേശത്തിലേക്കും നല്ലഭാഗത്തു നിന്റെ അപ്പനെയും സഹോദരന്മാരെയും പാർപ്പിക്ക; അവർ ഗോശെൻ ദേശത്തുതന്നേ പാർത്തുകൊള്ളട്ടെ. അവരിൽ പ്രാപ്തന്മാർ ഉണ്ടെന്നു നീ അറിയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവരെ എന്റെ ആടുമാടുകളുടെ മേൽ വിചാരകന്മാരാക്കി വെക്കുക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
7 യോസേഫ് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ യാക്കോബിനെയും അകത്തു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു, അവനെ ഫറവോന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിർത്തി,
8 യാക്കോബ് ഫറവോനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു. ഫറവോൻ യാക്കോബിനോടു: എത്ര വയസ്സായി എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
9 യാക്കോബ് ഫറവോനോടു: എന്റെ പരദേശപ്രയാണത്തിന്റെ കാലം നൂറ്റിമുപ്പതു സംവത്സരം ആയിരിക്കുന്നു. എന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം ചുരുക്കവും കഷ്ടമുള്ളതും അത്രേ; എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ പരദേശപ്രയാണമായ ആയുഷ്കാലത്തോളം എത്തീട്ടുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
10 യാക്കോബ് ഫറവോനെ പിന്നെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു ഫറവോന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു പോയി.
11 അനന്തരം യോസേഫ് തന്റെ അപ്പനെയും സഹോദരന്മാരെയും കുടിപാർപ്പിച്ചു; ഫറവോൻ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവർക്കു മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിലേക്കും നല്ല ഭാഗമായ രമെസേസ് ദേശത്തു അവകാശവും കൊടുത്തു.
12 യോസെഫ് തന്റെ അപ്പനെയും സഹോദരന്മാരെയും അപ്പന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെ ഒക്കെയും കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം ആഹാരം കൊടുത്തു രക്ഷിച്ചു.
13 എന്നാൽ ക്ഷാമം ഏറ്റവും കഠിനമായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ദേശത്തെങ്ങും ആഹാരമില്ലാതെയായി മിസ്രയീംദേശവും കനാൻ ദേശവും ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടു വലഞ്ഞു.
14 ജനങ്ങൾ വാങ്ങിയ ധാന്യത്തിന്നു വിലയായി യോസേഫ് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തും കനാൻ ദേശത്തുമുള്ള പണം ഒക്കെയും ശേഖരിച്ചു; പണം യോസേഫ് ഫറവോന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
15 മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തും കനാൻ ദേശത്തും പണം ഇല്ലാതെയായപ്പോൾ മിസ്രയീമ്യർ ഒക്കെയും യോസേഫിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു: ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ആഹാരം തരേണം; ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ കിടന്നു മരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? പണം തീർന്നുപോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
16 അതിന്നു യോസേഫ്: നിങ്ങളുടെ ആടുമാടുകളെ തരുവിൻ; പണം തീർന്നുപോയെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ ആടുമാടുകളെ വിലയായി വാങ്ങി ഞാൻ തരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
17 അങ്ങനെ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ കന്നുകാലികളെ യോസേഫിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; കുതിര, ആടു, കന്നുകാലി, കഴുത എന്നിവയെ യോസേഫ് വിലയായി വാങ്ങി അവർക്കു ആഹാരം കൊടുത്തു; ആയാണ്ടിൽ അവരുടെ കന്നുകാലികളെ എല്ലാം വാങ്ങി ആഹാരം കൊടുത്തു അവരെ രക്ഷിച്ചു.
18 ആ ആണ്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞു പിറ്റെ ആണ്ടിൽ അവർ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞങ്ങളുടെ പണം ചെലവായി, മൃഗക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളും യജമാനന്നു ചേർന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരങ്ങളും നിലങ്ങളുമല്ലാതെ യജമാനന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഒന്നും ശേഷിപ്പില്ല എന്നുള്ളതു യജമാനനെ ഞങ്ങൾ മറെക്കുന്നില്ല.
19 ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ നിലവും നിന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു മുമ്പിൽ എന്തിന്നു നശിക്കുന്നു? നീ ഞങ്ങളെയും നിലത്തെയും ആഹാരത്തിന്നു വിലയായി വാങ്ങേണം. ഞങ്ങൾ നിലവുമായി ഫറവോന്നു അടിമകൾ ആകട്ടെ. ഞങ്ങൾ മരിക്കാതെ ജീവനോടിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിലം ശൂന്യമായി പോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വിത്തു തരേണം.
20 അങ്ങനെ യോസേഫ് മിസ്രയീമിലെ നിലം ഒക്കെയും ഫറവോന്നു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങി; ക്ഷാമം പ്രബലപ്പെടുകകൊണ്ടു മിസ്രയീമ്യർ തങ്ങളുടെ നിലം വിറ്റു; നിലമെല്ലാം ഫറവോന്നു ആയി.
21 ജനങ്ങളേയോ അവൻ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിന്റെ അറ്റംമുതൽ അറ്റംവരെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലേക്കു കുടിനീക്കി പാർപ്പിച്ചു.
22 പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ നിലം മാത്രം അവൻ വാങ്ങിയില്ല; പുരോഹിതന്മാർക്കു ഫറവോൻ അവകാശം കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നു; ഫറവോൻ അവർക്കു കൊടുത്ത അവകാശം കൊണ്ടു അവർ ഉപജീവനം കഴിച്ചതിനാൽ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ നിലം വിറ്റില്ല.
23 യോസേഫ് ജനങ്ങളോടു: ഞാൻ ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ നിലത്തെയും ഫറവോന്നു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾക്കു വിത്തു ഇതാ; നിലം വിതെച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ.
24 വിളവെടുക്കുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ ഫറവോന്നു അഞ്ചിലൊന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം; നാലോഹരിയോ, വിത്തിന്നു വിത്തായിട്ടും നിങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളിലുള്ളവർക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികൾക്കും ആഹാരമായിട്ടും നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നേ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
25 അതിന്നു അവർ: നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യജമാനന്നു ഞങ്ങളോടു ദയയുണ്ടായാൽ മതി; ഞങ്ങൾ ഫറവോന്നു അടിമകളായിക്കൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
26 അഞ്ചിലൊന്നു ഫറവൊന്നു ചെല്ലേണം എന്നിങ്ങിനെ യോസേഫ് മിസ്രയീമിലെ നിലങ്ങളെ സംബന്ധിച്ചുവെച്ച ചട്ടം ഇന്നുവരെയും നടപ്പാകുന്നു. പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ നിലം മാത്രം ഫറവോന്നു ചേർന്നിട്ടില്ല.
27 യിസ്രായേൽ മിസ്രയീംരാജ്യത്തിലെ ഗോശെൻ ദേശത്തു പാർത്തു; അവിടെ അവകാശം സമ്പാദിച്ചു, ഏറ്റവും സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകിവന്നു.
28 യാക്കോബ് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു വന്നിട്ടു പതിനേഴു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു; യാക്കോബിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം ആകെ നൂറ്റിനാല്പത്തേഴു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു.
29 യിസ്രായേൽ മരിപ്പാനുള്ള കാലം അടുത്തപ്പോൾ അവൻ തന്റെ മകനായ യോസേഫിനെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു അവനോടു: നിനക്കു എന്നോടു കൃപയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നിന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ തുടയിൽകീഴിൽ വെക്കുക; എന്നോടു ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും കാണിച്ചു എന്നെ മിസ്രയീമിൽ അടക്കാതെ,
30 ഞാൻ എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രകൊള്ളുമ്പോൾ എന്നെ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോയി അവരുടെ ശ്മശാനഭൂമിയിൽ അടക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നിന്റെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം ഞാൻ ചെയ്യാം എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
31 എന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ക എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു; അവൻ സത്യവും ചെയ്തു; അപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽ കട്ടിലിന്റെ തലെക്കൽ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.
1 Then Joseph came and told Pharaoh, and said, My father and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, are come out of the land of Canaan; and, behold, they are in the land of Goshen.
2 And he took some of his brethren, even five men, and presented them unto Pharaoh.
3 And Pharaoh said unto his brethren, What is your occupation? And they said unto Pharaoh, Thy servants are shepherds, both we, and also our fathers.
4 They said moreover unto Pharaoh, For to sojourn in the land are we come; for thy servants have no pasture for their flocks; for the famine is sore in the land of Canaan: now therefore, we pray thee, let thy servants dwell in the land of Goshen.
5 And Pharaoh spake unto Joseph, saying, Thy father and thy brethren are come unto thee:
6 The land of Egypt is before thee; in the best of the land make thy father and brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell: and if thou knowest any men of activity among them, then make them rulers over my cattle.
7 And Joseph brought in Jacob his father, and set him before Pharaoh: and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.
8 And Pharaoh said unto Jacob, How old art thou?
9 And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.
10 And Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from before Pharaoh.
11 And Joseph placed his father and his brethren, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.
12 And Joseph nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his father’s household, with bread, according to their families.
13 And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine.
14 And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house.
15 And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth.
16 And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail.
17 And they brought their cattle unto Joseph: and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for horses, and for the flocks, and for the cattle of the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them with bread for all their cattle for that year.
18 When that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide it from my lord, how that our money is spent; my lord also hath our herds of cattle; there is not ought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:
19 Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate.
20 And Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for the Egyptians sold every man his field, because the famine prevailed over them: so the land became Pharaoh’s.
21 And as for the people, he removed them to cities from one end of the borders of Egypt even to the other end thereof.
22 Only the land of the priests bought he not; for the priests had a portion assigned them of Pharaoh, and did eat their portion which Pharaoh gave them: wherefore they sold not their lands.
23 Then Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for you, and ye shall sow the land.
24 And it shall come to pass in the increase, that ye shall give the fifth part unto Pharaoh, and four parts shall be your own, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for them of your households, and for food for your little ones.
25 And they said, Thou hast saved our lives: let us find grace in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.
26 And Joseph made it a law over the land of Egypt unto this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth part; except the land of the priests only, which became not Pharaoh’s.
27 And Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions therein, and grew, and multiplied exceedingly.
28 And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years: so the whole age of Jacob was an hundred forty and seven years.
29 And the time drew nigh that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me; bury me not, I pray thee, in Egypt:
30 But I will lie with my fathers, and thou shalt carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their buryingplace. And he said, I will do as thou hast said.
31 And he said, Swear unto me. And he sware unto him. And Israel bowed himself upon the bed’s head.
Jeremiah 20 in Tamil and English
1 ઈમ્મેરનો પુત્ર યાજક પાશહૂર યહોવાના મંદિરના રક્ષકોનો ઉપરી હતો. તેણે યમિર્યાને આવી ભવિષ્યવાણી ભાખતો સાંભળ્યો,
Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the Lord, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things.
2 તેથી તેણે યમિર્યાની ધરપકડ કરી અને તેને કોરડાથી ફટકાર્યો, પછી તેણે તેને મંદિરના બિન્યામીન દરવાજા આગળ સાંકળોથી બાધ્યો.
Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the Lord.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The Lord hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magor-missabib.
4 કારણ કે યહોવા તારા પર તથા તારા સર્વ મિત્રો પર ભય મોકલશે અને તેઓના શત્રુઓની તરવારોથી તેઓને તું મૃત્યુ પામતાં જોશે. આખો યહૂદિયા હું બાબિલના રાજાને સોંપી દઇશ. તે તેમને કેદ કરીને બાબિલ લઇ જશે અને ત્યાં તરવારથી મારી નાખશે.
For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.
5 આ શહેરની સર્વ સંપત્તિ, એના બધા ભંડારો અને કિમતી વસ્તુઓ, યહૂદિયાના રાજાનો બધો ખજાનો હું તેમના શત્રુઓને સોંપી દઇશ, શત્રુઓ લૂંટમાર કરીને એનો કબજો લેશે અને બાબિલ લઇ જવામાં આવશે.
Moreover I will deliver all the strength of this city, and all the labours thereof, and all the precious things thereof, and all the treasures of the kings of Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies, which shall spoil them, and take them, and carry them to Babylon.
6 તું, પાશહૂર, અને તારું કુટુંબ કેદ પકડાશો, તમને બાબિલ લઇ જવામાં આવશે, અને ત્યાં તમારું મોત થશે અને ત્યાં તમે દટાશો. તું અને તારા બધા મિત્રો, જેમને તેં ખોટી ભવિષ્યવાણી સંભળાવેલી છે.”‘
And thou, Pashur, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt come to Babylon, and there thou shalt die, and shalt be buried there, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied lies.
7 પછી મેં કહ્યું, “હે યહોવા, તમે મને યુકિતપૂર્વક છેતર્યો છે. તમારા સંદેશાઓ આપવા માટે તમે મને દબાણ કર્યુ. કારણ કે મારા કરતાં તમે અતિ બળવાન છો. પરંતુ હવે હું બધા દિવસો હાંસીપાત્ર થયો છું અને સર્વ લોકો મારી મશ્કરી કરે છે.
O Lord, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.
8 કેમ કે જ્યારે જ્યારે હું બોલું છું ત્યારે ત્યારે ઘાટાં પાડીને એક જ વાત કહેવાની છે, ‘હિંસા અને વિનાશ!’ હે યહોવા, તારી વાણી સંભળાવવાને કારણે આખો દિવસ મારે હાંસી અને નામોશી સહન કરવી પડે છે.”
For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the Lord was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.
9 હું જો એમ કહું કે, “હવે હું યહોવાને સંભારીશ નહિ, એને નામે બોલું જ નહિ.” તો તારી એ વાણી મારા અંગે અંગમાં ભંડારાયેલી આગની જેમ મારા અંતરમાં ભડભડી ઊઠે છે; અને હું તેને કાબૂમાં રાખવા મથું છું, પણ નથી રાખી શકતો.
Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
10 ચારે બાજુથી હું તેઓની ધમકીઓ ઉચ્ચારાતી સાંભળું છું અને મને ડર લાગે છે, તેઓ કહે છે, “આપણે ફરિયાદ કરીશું. જેઓ મારા મિત્રો હતા તેઓ સાવધાનીથી મને નિહાળે છે કે, ક્યારે ભયંકર ભૂલ કરી બેસું. તે પોતે જ ફસાઇ જશે અને ત્યારે આપણે તેના પર આપણું વૈર વાળીશું. તેઓ આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે.”
For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.
11 પરંતુ મહાન યોદ્ધાની જેમ યહોવા મારી પડખે ઊભા છે. તે પરાક્રમી તથા ભયાવહ છે. મારા જુલમગારો ઠોકર ખાશે, તેઓ નહિ ફાવે, તેઓ નિષ્ફળ જતાં ભારે ફજેત થશે; તેઓ બધી રીતે અપમાનિત થશે અને સદાને માટે તેઓ પર કલંક લાગશે.
But the Lord is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.
12 હે સૈન્યોના દેવ યહોવા, તમે સતનું પારખું કરો છો, મારા મનનો અને હૃદયનો તાગ લો છો; અને હું ઇચ્છું છું કે હું તમને એમના પર બદલો વાળતા જોવા પામુંં, કારણ કે મેં મારો દાવો ફકત તમને સોંપ્યો છે.
But, O Lord of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause.
13 યહોવાના ગીત ગાઓ, એમનાં ગુણગાન કરો. કારણ, તેણે દુષ્ટોના હાથમાંથી દરિદ્રીઓનું જીવન ઉગારી લીધુ છે.
Sing unto the Lord, praise ye the Lord: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.
14 તેમ છતાં મારા જન્મનો દિવસ શાપિત થાઓ!
Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.
15 તને પુત્ર થયો છે એવી વધામણી મારા પિતાને આપનાર માણસ શાપિત થાઓ.
Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A man child is born unto thee; making him very glad.
16 તે માણસના હાલ એ પુરાતન નગરોના જેવા થાવ. જેનો યહોવાએ દયા રાખ્યા વગર નાશ કર્યો છે, ભલે તેને આખો દિવસ રણનાદ સંભળાય; સવારમાં આર્તનાદ અને બપોરે યુદ્ધનાદ સંભળાય,
And let that man be as the cities which the Lord overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noontide;
17 કારણ કે, તેણે મને ગર્ભમાં જ મારી ન નાખ્યો, તો મારી માતા જ મારી કબર બની હોત, તેનું ઉદર સદા માટે મોટું રહ્યું હોત.
Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.
18 હું કષ્ટો અને દુ:ખ સહન કરવા માટે, શરમાળ જીવન જીવવા માટે શું કામ ગર્ભમાંથી બહાર આવ્યો?
Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?
