യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളിൽ അവരോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്തു:

I אָנֹכִ֗י ʾānōkî ah-noh-HEE
made כָּרַ֤תִּֽי kārat ka-RAHT
a covenant בְרִית֙ bĕrît beh-REET
with אֶת ʾēt ate
your fathers אֲב֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם ʾāb av
in the day בְּי֨וֹם yôm yome
that I brought them forth הוֹצִאִ֤י yāṣāʾ ya-TSA
אוֹתָם֙ ʾēt ate
out of the land מֵאֶ֣רֶץ ʾereṣ eh-RETS
of Egypt, מִצְרַ֔יִם miṣrayim meets-ra-YEEM
out of the house מִבֵּ֥ית bayit ba-YEET
of bondmen, עֲבָדִ֖ים ʿebed eh-VED
saying, לֵאמֹֽר׃ ʾāmar ah-MAHR
