യെഹൂദി മൂന്നു നാലു ഭാഗം വായിച്ചശേഷം രാജാവു എഴുത്തുകാരന്റെ ഒരു കത്തികൊണ്ടു അതു കണ്ടിച്ചു ചുരുൾ മുഴുവനും നെരിപ്പോട്ടിലെ തീയിൽ വെന്തുപോകുംവരെ നെരിപ്പോട്ടിൽ ഇട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

leaves, דְּלָתוֹת֮ delet deh-LET
or four וְאַרְבָּעָה֒ ʾarbaʿ ar-BA
he cut יִֽקְרָעֶ֙הָ֙ qāraʿ ka-RA
it with the penknife, בְּתַ֣עַר taʿar ta-AR
הַסֹּפֵ֔ר sāpar sa-FAHR
and cast וְהַשְׁלֵ֕ךְ šālak sha-LAHK
into אֶל ʾēl ale
the fire הָאֵ֖שׁ ʾēš aysh
that אֲשֶׁ֣ר ʾăšer uh-SHER
on אֶל ʾēl ale
the hearth, הָאָ֑ח ʾāḥ ak
until עַד ʿad ad
was consumed תֹּם֙ tāmam ta-MAHM
all כָּל kōl kole
the roll הַמְּגִלָּ֔ה mĕgillâ meh-ɡee-LA
in עַל ʿal al
the fire הָאֵ֖שׁ ʾēš aysh
that אֲשֶׁ֥ר ʾăšer uh-SHER
on עַל ʿal al
the hearth. הָאָֽח׃ ʾāḥ ak
