നിന്നെ കൊന്നുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു അമ്മോന്യരുടെ രാജാവായ ബാലീസ് നെഥന്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യിശ്മായേലിനെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നീ അറിയുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; അഹീക്കാമിന്റെ മകനായ ഗെദല്യാവോ അവരുടെ വാക്കു വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.

Baalis	בַּעֲלִ֣יס׀	baʿălîs	ba-uh-LEES
the king	מֶ֣לֶךְ	melek	meh-LEK
of the Ammonites	בְּנֵֽי	bēn	bane
	עַמּ֗וֹן	ʿammôn	ah-MONE
hath sent	שָׁלַח֙	šālaḥ	sha-LAHK
	אֶת	ʾēt	ate
Ishmael	יִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל	yišmāʿēl	yeesh-ma-ALE
the son	בֶּן	bēn	bane
of Nethaniah	נְתַנְיָ֔ה	nĕtanyâ	neh-tahn-YA
to slay	לְהַכֹּתְךָ֖	nākâ	na-HA
	נָ֑פֶשׁ	nepeš	neh-FESH
	וְלֹא	lōʾ	loh
believed them not.	הֶאֱמִ֣ין	ʾāman	ah-MAHN
	לָהֶ֔ם
thee? But Gedaliah	גְּדַלְיָ֖הוּ	gĕddalyâ	ɡeh-dahl-YA
the son	בֶּן	bēn	bane
of Ahikam	אֲחִיקָֽם׃	ʾăḥîqām	uh-hee-KAHM
