യോർദ്ദാന്റെ വൻ കാട്ടിൽനിന്നു ഒരു സിംഹം എന്നപോലെ അവൻ, എപ്പോഴും പച്ചയായിരിക്കുന്ന മേച്ചൽ പുറങ്ങളിലേക്കു കയറിവരുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവരെ പെട്ടെന്നു അതിൽനിന്നു ഓടിച്ചുകളയും; ഞാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന ഒരാളെ അതിന്നു നിയമിക്കും; എനിക്കു സമനായവൻ ആർ? എനിക്കു നേരം കുറിക്കുന്നവൻ ആർ? എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിൽക്കാകുന്ന ഇടയൻ ആർ?

Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

Behold, `the enemy' shall come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation: for I will suddenly make them run away from it; and whoso is chosen, him will I appoint over it: for who is like me? and who will appoint me a time? and who is the shepherd that can stand before me?

like a lion כְּאַרְיֵ֞ה ʾărî uh-REE
he shall come up יַעֲלֶ֨ה ʿālâ ah-LA
from the swelling מִגְּא֣וֹן gāʾôn ɡa-ONE
of Jordan הַיַּרְדֵּן֮ yardēn yahr-DANE
unto אֶל ʾēl ale
the habitation נְוֵ֣ה nāwe na-VEH
of the strong: אֵיתָן֒ ʾêtān ay-TAHN
but כִּֽי kî kee
I will make them suddenly אַרְגִּ֤עָה rāgaʿ ra-ɡA
run away אֲרִוצֵם֙ rûṣ roots
from her: מֵֽעָלֶ֔יהָ ʿal al
and who וּמִ֥י mî mee
a chosen בָח֖וּר bāḥar ba-HAHR
over אֵלֶ֣יהָ ʾēl ale
I may appoint אֶפְקֹ֑ד pāqad pa-KAHD
her? for כִּ֣י kî kee
who מִ֤י mî mee
like me? כָמ֙וֹנִי֙ kĕmô keh-MOH
and who וּמִ֣י mî mee
will appoint me the time? יוֹעִדֶ֔נִּי yāʿad ya-AD
and who וּמִֽי mî mee
that זֶ֣ה ze zeh
shepherd רֹעֶ֔ה rāʿâ ra-AH
that אֲשֶׁ֥ר ʾăšer uh-SHER
will stand יַעֲמֹ֖ד ʿāmad ah-MAHD
before me? לְפָנָֽי׃ pānîm pa-NEEM
