ശമൂവേൽ-1 1:11
അവൾ ഒരു നേർച്ചനേർന്നു; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേ, അടിയന്റെ സങ്കടം നോക്കി അടിയനെ ഓർക്കയും അടിയനെ മറക്കാതെ ഒരു പുരുഷസന്താനത്തെ നല്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ അടിയൻ അവനെ അവന്റെ ജീവപര്യന്തം യഹോവെക്കു കൊടുക്കും; അവന്റെ തലയിൽ ക്ഷൌരക്കത്തി തൊടുകയുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

| of hosts, | צְבָא֜וֹת | ṣĕbāʾôt | tseh-va-OTE |
| if | אִם | ʾim | eem |
| thou wilt indeed | רָאֹ֥ה | rāʾō | ra-OH |
| look | תִרְאֶ֣ה׀ | tirʾe | teer-EH |
| affliction the on | בָּֽעֳנִ֣י | bāʿŏnî | ba-oh-NEE |
| of thine handmaid, | אֲמָתֶ֗ךָ | ʾămātekā | uh-ma-TEH-ha |
| and remember | וּזְכַרְתַּ֙נִי֙ | ûzĕkartaniy | oo-zeh-hahr-TA-NEE |
| not and me, | וְלֹֽא | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| forget | תִשְׁכַּ֣ח | tiškaḥ | teesh-KAHK |
| אֶת | ʾet | et | |
| thine handmaid, | אֲמָתֶ֔ךָ | ʾămātekā | uh-ma-TEH-ha |
| give wilt but | וְנָֽתַתָּ֥ה | wĕnātattâ | veh-na-ta-TA |
| unto thine handmaid | לַאֲמָֽתְךָ֖ | laʾămātĕkā | la-uh-ma-teh-HA |
| a man | זֶ֣רַע | zeraʿ | ZEH-ra |
| child, | אֲנָשִׁ֑ים | ʾănāšîm | uh-na-SHEEM |
| give will I then | וּנְתַתִּ֤יו | ûnĕtattîw | oo-neh-ta-TEEOO |
| him unto the Lord | לַֽיהוָה֙ | layhwāh | lai-VA |
| all | כָּל | kāl | kahl |
| the days | יְמֵ֣י | yĕmê | yeh-MAY |
| of his life, | חַיָּ֔יו | ḥayyāyw | ha-YAV |
| no shall there and | וּמוֹרָ֖ה | ûmôrâ | oo-moh-RA |
| razor | לֹֽא | lōʾ | loh |
| come | יַעֲלֶ֥ה | yaʿăle | ya-uh-LEH |
| upon | עַל | ʿal | al |
| his head. | רֹאשֽׁוֹ׃ | rōʾšô | roh-SHOH |
