അവന്നു ശൌൽ എന്ന പേരോടെ യൌവനവും കോമളത്വവുമുള്ള ഒരു മകൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളിൽ അവനെക്കാൾ കോമളനായ പുരുഷൻ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു; അവൻ എല്ലാവരെക്കാളും തോൾമുതൽ പൊക്കമേറിയവൻ ആയിരുന്നു.
