എഫ്രയീം എന്റെ വാത്സല്യപുത്രനോ? ഓമനക്കുട്ടിയോ? ഞാൻ അവന്നു വിരോധമായി സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോഴൊക്കെയും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു എന്റെ മനസ്സിൽ സ്ഥായി തോന്നുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ ഉള്ളം അവനെച്ചൊല്ലി ഉരുകുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവനോടു കരുണ കാണിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.

Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a darling child? for as often as I speak against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart yearneth for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith Jehovah.

a pleasant שַׁעֲשֻׁעִ֔ים šaʿšuaʿ sha-SHOO-ah
for כִּֽי kee
since מִדֵּ֤י day dai
I spake דַבְּרִי֙ dābar da-VAHR
בּ֔וֹ
against him, I do earnestly זָכֹ֥ר zākar za-HAHR
remember אֶזְכְּרֶ֖נּוּ zākar za-HAHR
him still: ע֑וֹד ʿôd ode
therefore עַל ʿal al
כֵּ֗ן kēn kane
are troubled הָמ֤וּ hāmâ ha-MA
my bowels מֵעַי֙ mēʿe may-EH
ל֔וֹ
for him; I will surely רַחֵ֥ם rāḥam ra-HAHM
have mercy אֲֽרַחֲמֶ֖נּוּ rāḥam ra-HAHM
upon him, saith נְאֻם nĕʾum neh-OOM
the Lord. יְהוָֽה׃ yĕhōwâ yeh-hoh-VA
