1 ശലോമോന്റെ ഉത്തമഗീതം.
2 അവൻ തന്റെ അധരങ്ങളാൽ എന്നെ ചുംബിക്കട്ടെ; നിന്റെ പ്രേമം വീഞ്ഞിലും രസകരമാകുന്നു.
3 നിന്റെ തൈലം സൌരഭ്യമായതു; നിന്റെ നാമം പകർന്ന തൈലംപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു കന്യകമാർ നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.
4 നിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ എന്നെ വലിക്ക; നാം ഓടിപ്പോക; രാജാവു എന്നെ പള്ളിയറകളിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നിൽ ഉല്ലസിച്ചാനന്ദിക്കും; നിന്റെ പ്രേമത്തെ വീഞ്ഞിനെക്കാൾ ശ്ളാഘിക്കും; നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതു ഉചിതം തന്നേ.
5 യെരൂശലേംപുത്രിമാരേ, ഞാൻ കറുത്തവൾ എങ്കിലും കേദാര്യകൂടാരങ്ങളെപ്പോലെയും ശലോമോന്റെ തിരശ്ശീലകളെപ്പോലെയും അഴകുള്ളവൾ ആകുന്നു.
6 എനിക്കു ഇരുൾനിറം പറ്റിയിരിക്കയാലും ഞാൻ വെയിൽകൊണ്ടു കറുത്തിരിക്കയാലും എന്നെ തുറിച്ചുനോക്കരുതു. എന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ എന്നോടു കോപിച്ചു. എന്നെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങൾക്കു കാവലാക്കി; എന്റെ സ്വന്ത മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം ഞാൻ കാത്തിട്ടില്ലതാനും.
7 എന്റെ പ്രാണപ്രിയനേ, പറഞ്ഞുതരിക: നീ ആടുകളെ മേയിക്കുന്നതു എവിടെ? ഉച്ചെക്കു കിടത്തുന്നതു എവിടെ? നിന്റെ ചങ്ങാതിമാരുടെ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടങ്ങൾക്കരികെ ഞാൻ മുഖം മൂടിയവളെപ്പോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു?
8 സ്ത്രീകളിൽ അതിസുന്ദരിയേ, നീ അറിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ ആടുകളുടെ കാൽചുവടു തുടർന്നുചെന്നു ഇടയന്മാരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളുടെ അരികെ നിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെ മേയിക്ക.
9 എന്റെ പ്രിയേ, ഫറവോന്റെ രഥത്തിന്നു കെട്ടുന്ന പെൺകുതിരയോടു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഉപമിക്കുന്നു.
10 നിന്റെ കവിൾത്തടങ്ങൾ രത്നാവലികൊണ്ടും നിന്റെ കഴുത്തു മുത്തുമാലകൊണ്ടും ശോഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
11 ഞങ്ങൾ നിനക്കു വെള്ളിമണികളോടുകൂടിയ സുവർണ്ണസരപ്പളി ഉണ്ടാക്കിത്തരാം.
12 രാജാവു ഭക്ഷണത്തിന്നിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ എന്റെ ജടാമാംസി സുഗന്ധം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു.
13 എന്റെ പ്രിയൻ എനിക്കു സ്തനങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ കിടക്കുന്ന മൂറിൻ കെട്ടുപോലെയാകുന്നു.
14 എന്റെ പ്രിയൻ എനിക്കു ഏൻ ഗെദി മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളിലെ മയിലാഞ്ചിപ്പൂകൂലപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
15 എന്റെ പ്രിയേ, നീ സുന്ദരി, നീ സുന്ദരി തന്നേ; നിന്റെ കണ്ണു പ്രാവിന്റെ കണ്ണുപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
16 എന്റെ പ്രിയനേ, നീ സുന്ദരൻ, നീ മനോഹരൻ; നമ്മുടെ കിടക്കയും പച്ചയാകുന്നു.
17 നമ്മുടെ വീട്ടിന്റെ ഉത്തരം ദേവദാരുവും കഴുക്കോൽ സരളവൃക്ഷവും ആകുന്നു.

2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
3 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.
4 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.
5 I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
6 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother’s children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
7 Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?
8 If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds’ tents.
9 I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh’s chariots.
10 Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold.
11 We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver.
12 While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.
13 A bundle of myrrh is my wellbeloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.
14 My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of En-gedi.
15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes.
16 Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.
17 The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.

1 ആദിയിൽ ദൈവം ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 ഭൂമി പാഴായും ശൂന്യമായും ഇരുന്നു; ആഴത്തിന്മീതെ ഇരുൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു വെള്ളത്തിൻ മീതെ പരിവർത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 വെളിച്ചം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; വെളിച്ചം ഉണ്ടായി.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 വെളിച്ചം നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു ദൈവം വെളിച്ചവും ഇരുളും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിച്ചു.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 ദൈവം വെളിച്ചത്തിന്നു പകൽ എന്നും ഇരുളിന്നു രാത്രി എന്നും പേരിട്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ഒന്നാം ദിവസം.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 ദൈവം വെള്ളങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഒരു വിതാനം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; അതു വെള്ളത്തിന്നും വെള്ളത്തിന്നും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിവായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 വിതാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കീട്ടു ദൈവം വിതാനത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ള വെള്ളവും വിതാനത്തിൻ മീതെയുള്ള വെള്ളവും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 ദൈവം വിതാനത്തിന്നു ആകാശം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, രണ്ടാം ദിവസം.
And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 ദൈവം: ആകാശത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ള വെള്ളം ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു കൂടട്ടെ; ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലം കാണട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10 ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലത്തിന്നു ദൈവം ഭൂമി എന്നും വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു സമുദ്രം എന്നും പേരിട്ടു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
11 ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു പുല്ലും വിത്തുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയിൽ അതതു തരം വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും മുളെച്ചുവരട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12 ഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നു പുല്ലും അതതു തരം വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും മുളെച്ചുവന്നു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13 സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, മൂന്നാം ദിവസം.
And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14 പകലും രാവും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിവാൻ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ വെളിച്ചങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; അവ അടയാളങ്ങളായും കാലം, ദിവസം, സംവത്സരം എന്നിവ തിരിച്ചറിവാനായും ഉതകട്ടെ;
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ അവ വെളിച്ചങ്ങളായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 പകൽ വാഴേണ്ടതിന്നു വലിപ്പമേറിയ വെളിച്ചവും രാത്രി വാഴേണ്ടതിന്നു വലിപ്പം കുറഞ്ഞ വെളിച്ചവും ആയി രണ്ടു വലിയ വെളിച്ചങ്ങളെ ദൈവം ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിപ്പാനും പകലും രാത്രിയും വാഴുവാനും വെളിച്ചത്തെയും ഇരുളിനെയും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിപ്പാനുമായി
And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 ദൈവം അവയെ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ നിർത്തി; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19 സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, നാലാം ദിവസം.
And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20 വെള്ളത്തിൽ ജലജന്തുക്കൾ കൂട്ടമായി ജനിക്കട്ടെ; ഭൂമിയുടെ മീതെ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ പറവജാതി പറക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു.
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 ദൈവം വലിയ തിമിംഗലങ്ങളെയും വെള്ളത്തിൽ കൂട്ടമായി ജനിച്ചു ചരിക്കുന്ന അതതുതരം ജീവജന്തുക്കളെയും അതതു തരം പറവജാതിയെയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22 നിങ്ങൾ വർദ്ധിച്ചു പെരുകി സമുദ്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളത്തിൽ നിറവിൻ; പറവജാതി ഭൂമിയിൽ പെരുകട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു ദൈവം അവയെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23 സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, അഞ്ചാം ദിവസം.
And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24 അതതുതരം കന്നുകാലി, ഇഴജാതി, കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഇങ്ങനെ അതതു തരം ജീവജന്തുക്കൾ ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു ഉളവാകട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25 ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം അതതു തരം കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെയും അതതു തരം കന്നുകാലികളെയും അതതു തരം ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
26 അനന്തരം ദൈവം: നാം നമ്മുടെ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ നമ്മുടെ സാദൃശ്യപ്രകാരം മനുഷ്യനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുക; അവർ സമുദ്രത്തിലുള്ള മത്സ്യത്തിന്മേലും ആകാശത്തിലുള്ള പറവജാതിയിന്മേലും മൃഗങ്ങളിന്മേലും സർവ്വഭൂമിയിന്മേലും ഭൂമിയിൽ ഇഴയുന്ന എല്ലാ ഇഴജാതിയിന്മേലും വാഴട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം തന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ മനുഷ്യനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ അവനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി അവരെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 ദൈവം അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകി ഭൂമിയിൽ നിറഞ്ഞു അതിനെ അടക്കി സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യത്തിന്മേലും ആകാശത്തിലെപറവജാതിയിന്മേലും സകലഭൂചരജന്തുവിന്മേലും വാഴുവിൻ എന്നു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 ഭൂമിയിൽ എങ്ങും വിത്തുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളും വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായ്ക്കുന്ന സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആഹാരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ;
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ആകാശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ പറവകൾക്കും ഭൂമിയിൽ ചരിക്കുന്ന സകല ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കൾക്കും ആഹാരമായിട്ടു പച്ചസസ്യം ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻ കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31 താൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതിനെ ഒക്കെയും ദൈവം നോക്കി, അതു എത്രയും നല്ലതു എന്നു കണ്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ആറാം ദിവസം.
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
