ஜனக்கூட்டத்தினிமித்தம் அவருக்குச் சமீபமாய்ச் சேரக்கூடாமல், அவர் இருந்த வீட்டின் மேற்கூரையைப் பிரித்துத் திறப்பாக்கி, திமிர்வாதக்காரன் கிடக்கிற படுக்கையை இறக்கினார்கள்.

மக்கள்கூட்டம் அதிகமாக இருந்ததால் இயேசுவின் அருகில் செல்லமுடியாமல், அவர் இருந்த வீட்டின் மேல்கூரையைப் பிரித்து, அந்தப் பக்கவாதக்காரனை படுக்கையோடு இறக்கினார்கள்.

ஆனால் அவர்களால் அவனை இயேசுவின் அருகில் கொண்டுவர முடியவில்லை. ஏனென்றால் மக்கள் கூட்டம் அவ்வீட்டைச் சூழ்ந்திருந்தது. எனவே அவர்கள் கூரைமீது ஏறி இயேசு இருந்த இடத்துக்கு மேல் கூரையில் ஒரு திறப்பை உண்டாக்கினார்கள். பிறகு பக்கவாதக்காரனின் படுக்கையை வீட்டுக்குள் இறக்கினார்கள்.

And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
