Exodus 15:23
तीन दिनपछि ती मानिसहरू मारामा आइपुगे। मारामा पानी त थियो तर पिउँन नसकिने तीतो थियो। (यसकारण मानिसहरूले त्यस ठाउँको नाउँ मारा राखे।)

| they | מָרִ֖ים | mārîm | ma-REEM |
| were bitter: | הֵ֑ם | hēm | hame |
| therefore | עַל | ʿal | al |
| כֵּ֥ן | kēn | kane | |
| name the | קָרָֽא | qārāʾ | ka-RA |
| of it was called | שְׁמָ֖הּ | šĕmāh | sheh-MA |
| Marah. | מָרָֽה׃ | mārâ | ma-RA |
