प्रथम वर्षमा कोरेस फारस का राजा थिए। अगमवक्ता यर्मियाह द्वारा बोलिएको परमप्रभुको वचन पूर्ण गर्नका निम्ति परमप्रभुले फारसका राजा कोरेसलाई उनको राज्य भरि घोषणा गर्ने प्रेरणा दिनु भयो। कोरेसले त्यो घोषणा लेखे अनि आफ्नो राज्य को सबै स्थानमा पढिदिए। त्यसमा यो भनिएको थियोः

that he made a proclamation	וַיַּֽעֲבֶר	ʿābar	ah-VAHR

his kingdom,	מַלְכוּת֔וֹ	malkût	mahl-HOOT
and also	וְגַם	gam	ɡahm
in writing,	בְּמִכְתָּ֖ב	miktāb	meek-TAHV
saying,	לֵאמֹֽר׃	ʾāmar	ah-MAHR
