यस आशीर्वादको कारणले त्यसपछि एसावले याकूबलाई घृणा गर्न थाले। एसावले मनमा सोचे, “मेरा बाबु अब चाँडै मर्नु हुन्छ, अनि त्यसपछि उनको शोक गर्ने समय आउनेछ, तर त्यसपछि म उसलाई मार्नेछु।”
