Luke 20
1 एकदिन येशू मन्दिरमा हुनुहुन्थ्यो अनि मानिसहरूलाई शिक्षा दिइरहनुभएको थियो। उहाँले परमेश्वरको राज्यको विषयमा सुसमाचारहरू भनिरहनुभएको थियो। मुख्य पूजाहारी हरू, व्यवस्थाका शास्त्रीहरू र बूढा यहूदी प्रमुखहरू उहाँ भएकोमा प्रश्न गर्न आए।
2 तिनीहरूले सोधे, “हामीलाई भन्नु होस्, कुन अधिकारले तपाईं यी सब काम गर्नु हुन्छ? कसले तपाईंलाई यस्तो अधिकार दियो?”
3 येशूले उत्तर दिनुभयो, “म पनि तिमीहरूलाई एउटा प्रश्न सोध्छु। मलाई भन
4 जब यूहन्नाले मानिसहरूलाई बप्तिस्मा दिए त्यो अधिकार तिनले परमेश्वरबाट अथवा मानिसकसबाट पाएका थिए?”
5 तिनीहरूले यस विषयमा आपसमा बहस गरे, “यदि हामीले भन्यौं, यूहन्नाको बप्तिस्मा परमेश्वरबाट भएको थियो, तब उनले भन्नेछन्, त्यसो भए यूहन्नालाई किन विश्वास नगरे को?’
6 तर यदि हामीले भन्यौं, ‘यूहन्नाको बप्तिस्मा मानिसद्वारा भएको हो, तब सबै मानिसहरूले हामीलाई ढुङ्गाले हान्नेछन्, किनभने तिनीहरूले यूहन्नालाई अगमवक्ताको रूपमा विश्वास गर्छन्।”
7 अनि तिनीहरूले भने, “यो कहाँबाट आयो हामी जान्दैनौं।”
8 यसर्थ येशूले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “त्यसैले म यी कामहरू कुन अधिकारबाट गर्दैछु, भन्दिन।”
9 त्यसपछि येशूले दृष्टान्त कथा सुनाउनुभयष्ठ्वो, “एकजना मानिसले खेतमा दाखहरू रोपे। उसले आफ्नो खेत केही खेतीवालहरूलाई किरायमा दिए। त्यसपछि ती मानिस धेरै समयको लागि बाहिर गए।
10 त्यसपछि, खेतमा दाखको फसल उठाउने समय आयो। अनि त्यो मानिसले आफ्नो एकजना नोकरलाई ती खेतीवालहरूकहाँ आफ्नो पाउनु पर्ने दाखको भाग लिन पठायो। तर खेतीवालहरूले त्यो नोकरलाई कूटपीट गरे अनि खाली हात पठायो।
11 फेरि त्यो मानिसले अर्को नोकरलाई पठायो। खेतीवालहरूले त्यो नोकरलाई पनि पिटे। तिनीहरूले त्यसलाई कुनै सम्मान गरेनन्। ती खेतीवालहरूले उसलाई खाली हात पठाए।
12 उसले अझ तेस्रो नोकर पठायो। खेतीवालहरूले त्यलाई नराम्रो प्रकारले कुटे अनि बाहिर फ्याँकिदिए
13 त्यो खेतको मालिकले भन्यो, अब मैले के गर्नु पर्ने हो? म मेरो प्यारो छोरोलाई पठाउनेछु। हुन सक्छ खेती वालहरूले मेरो छोरोलाई आदर गर्छन्।
14 जब खेतीवालाहरुले छोरोलाई देखे, तिनीहरूले आपसमा भने, यो हाम्र मालिकको छोरो हो।
15 त्यसपछि खेतीवालहरूले उसको छोरोलाई खेतबाट बाहिर निकालिदिए अनि त्यसलाई मारे।“यो खेतको मालिकले अब के गर्नेछ?
16 तिनी आउनेछन्, अनि ती खेतीवालहरूलाई मार्नेछन्। त्यपछि तिनले त्यो खेत अन्य खेतीवालहरूलाई दिनेछन्।”मानिसहरूले यो कथा सुने। तिनीहरूले भने, “अहँ! यस्तो कहिल्यै नहोस्।”
17 तर येशूले तिनीहरूको आँखामा हेर्नुभयो अनि भन्नुभयो, “त्यसो भए, यो लेखिएको अर्थ के होलाः
18 प्रत्येक मानिस जो ती ढुङ्गामा बजारिनु पुग्छ चक्नाचूर हुनेछ। अनि यदि त्यो ढुङ्गा कसैमाथि खसे त्यसले तिनलाई धूलो पीठो पार्नेछ!”
19 येशूले भनेको यो कथा यहूदी प्रमुखहरूले सुने। तिनीहरूकै निम्ति भनिए झैं बुझे। त्यसर्थ तिनीहरूले त्यति बेलै येशूलाई पक्रिने चेष्टा गरे। तर तिनीहरू मानिसहरूसंग डराए।
20 यसपछि व्यवस्थाका शास्त्रीहरू र मुख्य पूजाहारीहरूले येशूलाई होसियारीसित चियो गरे। तिनीहरूले केही गुप्तचरहरू येशूकहाँ पठाए अनि तिनीहरूलाई असल मानिस झैं व्यवहार गर्ने भने। तिनीहरूले येशूको भनाईमा केही खोट निकाल्नु चहान्थे। यदि तिनीहरूले कुनै खोट पाए येशूलाई राज्यपाल अघि सुम्पिदिने थिए, जसको येशूमाथि शक्ति अनि अधिकार थियो।
21 अनि तिनीहरूले येशूलाई सोधे, “गुरुज्यू हामी बुझ्छौ कि तपाईं जे बोल्नु हुन्छ अनि शिक्षा दिनु हुन्छ त्यो सही छ। तपाईं सबै मानिसहरूलाई निष्पक्ष सित त्यहीकुरा सिकाउनु हुन्छ। अनि तपाईं सधैं नै परमेश्वरको मार्गको विषयमा सत्य सिकाउनु हुन्छ।
22 हामीलाई भन्नुहोस्, के हामाले कैसरलाई कर तिर्नु उचित छ वा छैन?”
23 तर येशूले तिनीहरूको चलाकी चाल पाई हाल्नुभयो। यसर्थ उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो,
24 “एउटा सिक्का मलाई देऊ। यो सिक्कामा कसको नाउँ छ? अनि यसमा कसको चित्रको छाप छ?”तिनीहरूले भने, “कैसरको।”
25 येशूले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “त्यसो हो भने कैसरको चीज कैसरलाई नै देऊ अनि परमेश्वरको परमेश्वरलाई नै देऊ।”
26 उहाँ ज्ञानमय उत्तर सुनेर तिनीहरू छक्क परे। तिनीहरूले केही भन्न सकेनन्। मानिसहरूको अघि तिनीहरूले येशूलाई केही कुरामा पनि पक्रन सकेनन्, यसर्थ तिनीहरू चूपचाप बसे।
27 कोही सदुकीहरू येशूकहाँ आए। तिनीहरू विश्वास गर्दथे कि मानिस मरेपछि फेरि कहिल्यै बौरी उठ्दैन। तिनीहरूले येशूलाई भने,
28 “गरुज्यू, मोशाले लेख्नु भएको छ कि यदि कुनै विवाहित मानिस सन्तान नजन्माई मर्यो भने उसकी पत्नीलाई उसको भाईले दाज्यूको सन्तानको निम्ति विवाह गर्नुपर्छ अनि दाज्युको लागि सन्तान जन्माउनु पर्छ।
29 कुनै एक समयमा सातजना दाज्यु भाइ थिए। जेठाले एउटी स्त्रीलाई विवाह गरे, तर मरिहाले। उसको कुनै सन्तान थिएन।
30 अनि दोस्रो भाईले त्यो विधवालाई विवाह गरे, अनि ऊ पनि मरिहाले।
31 तब तेस्रो भाइले उसलाई विवाह गरयो अनि उ पनि मरयो। त्यस्तै घटना अरु भाइहरूसित पनि घट्यो। तिनीहरू सबै सन्तान नभई मरे।
32 अन्तमा त्यो स्त्री पनि मरी।
33 तर सबै सात दाज्यू-भाइहरूले त्यसलाई विवाह गरेका थिए। अनि जब मानिसहरू मरेर बौरिन्छन् त्यो स्त्री कसकी पत्नी हुन्छे?”
34 येशूले ती सदूकीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “पृथ्वीमा मानिसहरूले आपसमा विवाह गर्छन्।
35 तर ती मानिसहरू जसलाई भविष्यको संसारका निम्ति योग्य ठानिन्छ अनि मृत्युबाट उठाई ल्याइन्छ तिनीहरू विवाह गर्दैनन् अथवा तिनीहरूको विवाह गराइदैन।
36 त्यतिवेला तिनीहरू स्वर्गदूत झैं हुनेछन् अनि मर्ने छैनन्। तिनीहरू पुनर्जीवित गराइएकाछन्।”
37 मोशाले जलिरहेका पोथ्रोको वर्णन गर्दा स्पष्टरूपले भनेका छन् कि मानिसहरू मृत्युबाट बौरी उठ्नेछन्। परमप्रभुलाई मोशाले अब्राहमका परमेश्वर, इसहाकका परमेश्वर र याकूबका परमेश्वरले भन्नुभएकोछ।’
38 परमेश्वर मुर्दाहरूको परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्न तर उहाँ जीवित मानिसहरूका परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ। सबै मानिसहरू जो परमेश्वरका हुन् तिनीहरू जिउँदो छन्।”
39 कोही व्यवस्थाका शास्त्रीहरूले भने, “हे गुरू, तपाईंको उत्तर सही हो।”
40 उहाँलाई अरू धेरै प्रश्न गर्ने साहस कसैलाई भएन।
41 त्यसपछि येशूले भन्नुभयो, “मानिसहरूले किन ख्रीष्टलाई दाऊदको पुत्र भन्छन्?
42 भजनको पुस्तकमा, दाऊद आफै भन्छन् ‘परमप्रभुले मेरा प्रभु ख्रीष्टलाई भन्नु भएकोछ तिमी मेरो दाहिने हातपट्टि बस,
43 जबसम्म म तिम्रा शत्रुहरूलाई तिम्रा शक्तिको वशमा पार्नेछु।’
44 दाऊदले ख्रीष्टलाई ‘प्रभु’ भनी सम्बोधन गर्छन्। तब कसरी ख्रीष्ट दाऊदको छोरो हुन सक्छन्?”
45 जव सबै मानिसहरूले सुनिरहेका थिए येशूले आफ्ना चेलाहरूलाई भन्नुभयो,
46 “व्यवस्थाका शास्त्रीहरूदेखि होशियार बस। तिनीहरू लामोलामा बस्त्र लगाएर वरिपरि घुम्न चहान्छन्। तिनीहरू बजारतिर जाँदा मानिसहरूले सम्मान गरून् भन्ने चहान्छन्। सभा-घरहरूमा मुख्य मुख्य आसन ओगट्न चहान्छन्। भोजहरूमा तिनीहरू अझ वेशी सम्मानित आसन ओगट्न चहान्छन्।
47 तर तिनीहरू विधवाहरूलाई धोका दिन्छन् र तिनीहरूको घर लुट्छन्। अनि तिनीहरू देखावटीको लागि लामालामा प्रार्थना गर्छन्। परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूलाई धेरै कडा दण्ड दिनुहुनेछ।”
1 And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,
2 And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?
3 And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:
4 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?
5 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?
6 But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.
7 And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.
8 And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
9 Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.
10 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.
11 And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.
12 And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.
13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.
14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?
16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.
17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
19 And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.
20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:
22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?
23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?
24 Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar’s.
25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.
26 And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.
27 Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,
28 Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man’s brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
29 There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.
30 And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.
31 And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.
32 Last of all the woman died also.
33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
39 Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.
40 And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.
41 And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David’s son?
42 And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
43 Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
44 David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?
45 Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,
46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
47 Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.

1 পরে যীশু তাঁর শিষ্যদের নিয়ে সেখান থেকে নিজের শহরে চলে এলেন৷
And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
2 এরপর তিনি বিশ্রামবারে সমাজ-গৃহে শিক্ষা দিতে লাগলেন; আর সমস্ত লোক তাঁর শিক্ষা শুনে আশ্চর্য হল৷ তারা বলল, ‘এ কোথা থেকে এ সমস্ত বিজ্ঞতা অর্জন করল? এ কি করে এমন বিজ্ঞতার সঙ্গে কথা বলে? কি করেই বা এইসব অলৌকিক কাজ করে?
And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
3 এ তো সেই ছুতোর মিস্ত্রি এবং মরিয়মের ছেলে; যাকোব, য়োসি, যিহূদা ও শিমোনের ভাই; তাই নয় কি? আর এর বোনেরা কি আমাদের মধ্যে নেই?’ এইসব চিন্তা তাদের মাথায় আসায় তারা তাঁকে গ্রহণ করতে পারল না৷
Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
4 তখন যীশু তাদের বললেন, ‘নিজের শহর ও নিজের আত্মীয় স্বজন এবং পরিজনদের মধ্যে ভাববাদী সম্মানিত হন না৷’
But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
5 তিনি সেখানে কোন অলৌকিক কাজ করতে পারলেন না৷ শুধু কয়েকজন রোগীর ওপর হাত রেখে তাদের সুস্থ করলেন৷
And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6 তারা য়ে তাঁর ওপর বিশ্বাস করল না, এতে তিনি আশ্চর্য হয়ে গেলেন৷ এর পরে তিনি চারদিকে গ্রামে গ্রামে ঘুরে শিক্ষা দিলেন৷
And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
7 পরে তিনি সেই বারোজনকে ডেকে দুজন দুজন করে তাঁদের পাঠাতে শুরু করলেন এবং তাঁদের অশুচি আত্মার ওপরে ক্ষমতা দান করলেন৷
And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
8 তিনি তাঁদের আদেশ দিলেন য়েন তাঁরা পথে চলবার জন্য একটা লাঠি ছাড়া আর কিছু সঙ্গে না নেয় এবং রুটি, থলে এমনকি কোমরবন্ধনীতে কোন টাকাপয়সা নিতেও বারণ করলেন৷
And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:
9 তবে বললেন, পায়ে জুতো পরবে কিন্তু কোন বাড়তি জামা নেবে না৷
But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.
10 তিনি আরও বললেন, তোমরা য়ে কোন শহরে য়ে বাড়িতে ঢুকবে, সেই শহর না ছাড়া পর্য়্ন্ত সেই বাড়িতে থেকো৷
And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.
11 যদি কোন শহরের লোক তোমাদের গ্রহণ না করে বা তোমাদের কথা না শোনে তবে সেখান থেকে চলে যাবার সময় তাদের উদ্দেশ্যে সাক্ষ্যের জন্য নিজের নিজের পায়ের ধূলো সেখানে ঝেড়ে ফেলো৷
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
12 পরে তাঁরা বিভিন্ন জায়গায় ছড়িয়ে পড়লেন, প্রচার করতে আরন্ভ করলেন এবং লোকদের মন-ফেরাতে বললেন৷
And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
13 তাঁরা অনেক ভূত ছাড়ালেন ও অনেক লোককে তেল মাখিয়ে সুস্থ করলেন৷
And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
14 যীশুর সুনাম চারদিকে এমন ছড়িয়ে পড়েছিল, য়ে রাজা হেরোদওসে কথা শুনতে পেলেন৷ কিছু লোক বলল, ‘বাপ্তিস্মদাতা য়োহন বেঁচে উঠেছেন, আর সেইজন্যই তিনি এইসব অলৌকিক কাজ করছেন৷’
And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.
15 কিন্তু কেউ কেউ বলল, ‘তিনি এলীয়৷’আবার কেউ কেউ বলল, ‘তিনি প্রাচীনকালের কোন ভাববাদীর মতোই একালের একজন ভাববাদী৷’
Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.
16 কিন্তু হেরোদ তাঁর কথা শুনে বললেন, ‘উনি সেই য়োহন, য়াঁর মাথা কেটে ফেলার নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলেন, তিনিই আবার বেঁচে উঠেছেন৷’
But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.
17 হেরোদ নিজের ভাই ফিলিপের স্ত্রী হেরোদিযাকে বিয়ে করেছিলেন, সেই জন্য নিজের লোক পাঠিয়ে য়োহনকে গ্রেপ্তার করে কারাগারে রেখেছিলেন৷
For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife: for he had married her.
18 কারণ য়োহন হেরোদকে বলেছিলেন, ‘ভাইয়ের স্ত্রীকে নিজের কাছে রাখা ঠিক নয়৷’
For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.
19 হেরোদিযা রাগে য়োহনকে মেরে ফেলতে চেয়েছিল, কিন্তু পারে নি৷
Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
20 কারণ হেরোদ য়োহনকে ধার্মিক এবং পবিত্র লোক জেনে ভয় করতেন, সেইজন্যে তিনি তাঁকে রক্ষা করতেন৷ তাঁর কথা শুনে তিনি অত্যন্ত বিচলিত হতেন তবুও তাঁর কথা শুনতে ভালবাসতেন৷
For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
21 শেষ পর্যন্ত হেরোদিযা যা চেয়েছিলেন সেই সুয়োগ এসে গেল৷ হেরোদ তাঁর জন্মদিনে প্রাসাদের উচ্চপদস্থ কর্মচারী, সেনাবাহিনীর অধ্যক্ষ ও গালীলের গন্যমান্য নাগরিকদের জন্য নৈশভোজের আযোজন করলেন;
And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
22 আর হেরোদিযার মেয়ে এসে রাজা ও নিমন্ত্রিত অতিথিদের নাচ দেখিয়ে মুগ্ধ করল৷ রাজা সেই মেয়েকে বললেন, ‘আমাকে বল তুমি কি চাও? তুমি যা চাইবে তা-ই দেব৷’
And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
23 তিনি শপথ করে আরো বললেন, ‘আমার কাছে যা চাইবে আমি তাই দেব, এমনকি অর্ধেক রাজ্যও দেব৷’
And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
24 তাতে সে বেরিয়ে গিয়ে তার মাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, ‘আমি কি চাইব?’ সে বলল, ‘বাপ্তিস্মদাতা য়োহনের মাথা৷’
And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
25 মেয়েটি তাড়াতাড়ি রাজার কাছে ফিরে গেল এবং বলল, ‘আমার ইচ্ছা য়ে, আপনি বাপ্তিস্মদাতা য়োহনের মাথাটি এনে এখনই থালায় করে আমাকে দিন৷’
And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
26 তাতে রাজা হেরোদ দুঃখ পেলেন: কিন্তু নিজের শপথের জন্য এবং ভোজসভার অতিথিদের জন্য তিনি মেয়েকে ফেরাতে চাইলেন না৷
And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath’s sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
27 তাই রাজা সঙ্গে সঙ্গে একজন সেনাকে য়োহনের মাথা কেটে নিয়ে আসতে পাঠালেন৷ সে কারাগারে গিয়ে তাঁর শিরশ্ছেদ করল,
And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
28 এবং থালায় করে মাথাটি নিয়ে মেয়েটিকে দিল, মেয়েটি তা তার মাকে দিল৷
And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.
29 এই সংবাদ শুনে য়োহনের শিষ্যরা এসে, তাঁর দেহটিকে নিয়ে গিয়ে কবর দিলেন৷
And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
30 এরপর য়ে প্রেরিতদের যীশু প্রচার করতে পাঠিয়েছিলেন, তাঁরা যীশুর কাছে ফিরে এসে যা কিছু করেছিলেন ও যা কিছু শিক্ষা দিয়েছিলেন সে সব কথা তাঁকে জানালেন৷
And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
31 তখন তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, ‘তোমরা কোন নির্জন স্থানে গিয়ে একটু বিশ্রাম কর৷’ কারণ এত লোক যাতাযাত করছিল য়ে তাঁদের খাবার সময় হচ্ছিল না৷
And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
32 তাই তাঁরা নৌকা করে কোন নির্জন স্থানে চললেন৷
And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
33 কিন্তু লোকরা তাঁদের য়েতে দেখল এবং অনেকে তাঁদের চিনতে পারল, তাই সমস্ত শহর থেকে লোকেরা বের হয়ে কিনারা ধরে দৌড়ে তাঁদের আগে সেখানে পৌঁছল৷
And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.
34 যীশু নৌকা থেকে বাইরে বেরিয়ে বহু লোককে দেখতে পেলেন, তাঁর প্রাণে তাদের জন্য খুবই দযা হল; কারণ তাদের পালকহীন মেষপালের মতো দেখাচ্ছিল৷ তখন তিনি তাদের অনেক বিষয়ে শিক্ষা দিতে লাগলেন৷
And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
35 সেই দিন বেলা প্রায় শেষ হয়ে এলে যীশুর শিষ্যরা এসে তাঁকে বললেন, ‘এটা নির্জন স্থান এবং সন্ধ্যাও ঘনিয়ে এল৷
And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:
36 এদের বিদায় করুন; যাতে এরা আশপাশের গ্রামে গিয়ে খাবার কিনতে পারে৷’
Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.
37 কিন্তু যীশু তাঁদের বললেন, ‘তোমরাই ওদের খেতে দাও৷’ তাঁরা যীশুকে বললেন, ‘এতো লোককে রুটি কিনে খাওযাতে গেলে তো দুশো দীনার লাগবে৷’
He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
38 তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, ‘তোমাদের কাছে কখানা রুটি আছে খুঁজে দেখ৷’
He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
39 তাঁরা দেখে বললেন, ‘আমাদের কাছে পাঁচখানা রুটি ও দুটো মাছ আছে৷’ তখন তিনি প্রত্যেককে সবুজ ঘাসের উপর বসিয়ে দিতে বললেন৷
And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.
40 তাঁরা শ’ শ’ জন এবং পঞ্চাশ পঞ্চাশ জন করে সারি সারি বসে পড়ল৷
And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
41 তখন তিনি সেই পাঁচটা রুটি ও দুটো মাছ নিয়ে স্বর্গের দিকে তাকিয়ে ঈশ্বরকে ধন্যবাদ জানিয়ে রুটিগুলোকে টুকরো টুকরো করে শিষ্যদের হাতে দিয়ে লোকদের দিতে বললেন৷ আর সেই দুটো মাছকেও টুকরো টুকরো করে সকলকে ভাগ করে দিলেন৷
And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
42 তারা সকলে তৃপ্তির সঙ্গে খেল৷
And they did all eat, and were filled.
43 আর যা পড়ে রইল সেই সমস্ত টুকরো রুটি ও মাছে বারোটি টুকরি ভর্তি হয়ে গেল৷
And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
44 যত পুরুষ সেদিন খেয়েছিল, তারা সংখ্যায় পাঁচ হাজার ছিল৷
And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.
45 পরে তিনি তাঁর শিষ্যদের নৌকায় উঠে তাঁর আগে ওপারে বৈত্সৈদাতে পৌঁছাতে বললেন, সেইসময় তিনি লোকেদের বিদায় দিচ্ছিলেন৷
And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.
46 লোকেদের বিদায় করে তিনি প্রার্থনা করবার জন্য পাহাড়ে চলে গেলেন৷
And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.
47 সন্ধ্যাকালে নৌকাটিহ্রদের মাঝখানে ছিল এবং তিনি একা ডাঙ্গায় ছিলেন৷
And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
48 তিনি দেখলেন য়ে শিষ্যরা বাতাসের বিরুদ্ধে খুব কষ্টের সঙ্গে দাঁড় টেনে চলেছেন৷ খুব ভোর বেলা প্রায় তিনটে ও ছটার মধ্যে তিনি হ্রদের জলের উপর দিয়ে হেঁটে তাদের কাছে এলেন৷ তিনি তাঁদের পাশ কাটিয়ে এগিয়ে য়েতে চাইলেন৷
And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
49 কিন্তু হ্রদের উপর দিয়ে তাঁকে হাঁটতে দেখে তাঁরা ভাবলেন ভূত, আর এই ভেবে তাঁরা চেঁচিয়ে উঠলেন৷
But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:
50 কারণ তাঁরা সকলেই তাঁকে দেখে ভয় পেয়েছিলেন; কিন্তু যীশু সঙ্গে সঙ্গে তাঁদের বললেন, ‘সাহস করো ! ভয় করো না, এতো আমি!’
For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
51 পরে তিনি তাদের নৌকায় উঠলে ঝড় থেমে গেল৷ তাতে তাঁরা আশ্চর্য হয়ে গেলেন৷
And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.
52 কারণ এর আগে তাঁরা পাঁচটা রুটির ঘটনার অর্থ বুঝতে পারেন নি, তাঁদের মন কঠোর হয়ে পড়েছিল৷
For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.
53 পরে তাঁরা ্ব্রদ পার হয়ে গিনেষরত্ প্রদেশে এসে নৌকা বাঁধলেন৷
And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.
54 তিনি নৌকা থেকে নামলে লোকরা তাঁকে চিনে ফেলল৷
And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,
55 তারা ঐ এলাকার সমস্ত অঞ্চলে চারদিকে দৌড়াদৌড়ি করে অসুস্থ লোকদের খাটিযা করে তাঁর কাছে নিয়ে আসতে লাগল৷
And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.
56 গ্রামে, শহরে বা পাড়ায় য়েখানে তিনি য়েতেন, সেখানে লোকেরা অসুস্থ রোগীদের এনে বাজারের মধ্যে জড়ো করত৷ তারা মিনতি করত য়েন শুধু যীশুর কাপড়ের ঝালর স্পর্শ করতে পারে৷ আর যাঁরা তাঁর কাপড় স্পর্শ করত তারা সকলেই সুস্থ হয়ে য়েত৷
And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.
