जरेद बेंसीबाट कादेश बर्नेसम्म पुग्न हामीलाई 38 वर्ष लाग्यो तब त्यस वंशका सबै युद्धका मानिसहरू छाउनीभित्र मरे। परमप्रभुले तिनीहरूलाई शपथ गर्नु भए झैं गरे।

| עָבַ֙רְנוּ֙ | ʿābarnû | ah-VAHR-NOO | |
| the brook | אֶת | ʾet | et |
| Zered, | נַ֣חַל | naḥal | NA-hahl |
| was thirty | זֶ֔רֶד | zered | ZEH-red |
| and eight | שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים | šĕlōšîm | sheh-loh-SHEEM |
| years; | וּשְׁמֹנֶ֖ה | ûšĕmōne | oo-sheh-moh-NEH |
| until | שָׁנָ֑ה | šānâ | sha-NA |
| all | עַד | ʿad | ad |
| the generation | תֹּ֨ם | tōm | tome |
| men the of | כָּל | kāl | kahl |
| of war | הַדּ֜וֹר | haddôr | HA-dore |
| out wasted were | אַנְשֵׁ֤י | ʾanšê | an-SHAY |
| from among | הַמִּלְחָמָה֙ | hammilḥāmāh | ha-meel-ha-MA |
| the host, | מִקֶּ֣רֶב | miqqereb | mee-KEH-rev |
| as | הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה | hammaḥăne | ha-ma-huh-NEH |
| the Lord | כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֛ר | kaʾăšer | ka-uh-SHER |
| sware | נִשְׁבַּ֥ע | nišbaʿ | neesh-BA |
