ନଗର ଅବରୋଧ ଥିଲା। ଲୋକେ ନଗର ଭିତରକୁ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଆଣି ପାରିଲେ ନାହିଁ। ଫଳ ରେ ସଠାେରେ ମହାଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ଦଖାେ ଦଲୋ। ଏପରି ଶାଚେନୀ ହେଲା ଶମରିଯାର ଗୋଟିଏ ଗର୍ଦ୍ଦଭ ମୁଣ୍ତ ଅଶୀ ରେ ୗପ୍ୟ ମୁଦ୍ରା ରେ ଓ କପୋତମଳର ଏକ ଚତୁର୍ଥାଂଶ ପାଞ୍ଚ ରେ ୗପ୍ୟ ମୁଦ୍ରା ରେ ବିକ୍ରଯ ହେଲା।
