Ezekiel 18:13
ଏବଂ ଘୃଣ୍ଯ କର୍ମ କରେ, ଋଣ ଦଇେ ସୁଧ ଆଦାଯ କରେ, ସେ ବଞ୍ଚିବ କି ? ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ଭାବରେ ନୁହେଁ। ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ଭାବରେ ମରିବ କାରଣ ସେ ସବୁ ଘୃଣ୍ଯ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରେ। ଏବଂ ସେ ତା'ର ନିଜର ମୃତ୍ଯୁ ପାଇଁ ଦାଯୀ ରହିବ।

ସେ ତା'ର ମନ୍ଦ ଆଚରଣକୁ ବିବଚେନା କରେ ଏବଂ ଦୋଷ କରିବା ବନ୍ଦ କରେ, ଯାହା କରିବା ରେ ସେ ଅଭ୍ଯସ୍ତ ଥାଏ। ତବେେ ସେ ବଞ୍ଚିବ, ସେ ମୃତ୍ଯୁବରଣ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।

କିନ୍ତୁ ଯଦି ଜଣେ ଧାର୍ମିକ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ତା'ର ଧାର୍ମିକତାରୁ ବିରତ ହୁଏ ଏବଂ ଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକର ସମସ୍ତ ଜଘନ୍ଯ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରେ, ସେ ବଞ୍ଚିବ କି? ତା'ର (ଆଗରୁ କରିଥିବା) ଧାର୍ମିକତା କାର୍ୟ୍ଯସବୁ ହିସାବକୁ ନିଆୟିବ ନାହିଁ। ତା'ର ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର ପାପ ଯୋଗୁଁ ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ଭାବରେ ମରିବ।

ସେ ଦୀନଦରିଦ୍ରକୁ ସାହାୟ୍ଯ କରେ, ସୁଧ ନ ନଇେ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ସେ ଯଦି ଋଣ ଦିଏ, ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭର ଶାସନ ସକଳ ବିଧି ଅନୁସରଣ କରେ ଓ ମାରେନୀତି ନିଯମ ଅନୁସାରେ ଜୀବନ ଧାରଣ କରେ, ସେ ଆପଣା ପିତାର ପାପ ସକାେଶ ମରିବ ନାହିଁ, ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚଯ ବଞ୍ଚିବ।

ଯେଉଁ ପୁରୁଷ ବା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଭୁତୁଡିଆ ବା ଗୁଣିଆ ହବେ ସମାନେେ ନିଶ୍ଚଯ ହତ ହବେେ। ଲୋକମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ପଥର ଫିଙ୍ଗି ବଧ କରିବେ। ସମାନେେ ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ନିହତ ହବେେ।

ଯଦି କୌଣସି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ତା'ର ପିତୃ ଭାର୍ୟ୍ଯା ସହିତ ଦୈହୀକ ସଂପର୍କ ରେଖ, ସେ ତାଙ୍କର ପିତାକୁ ଅସମ୍ମାନ କରିଥାଏ। ତବେେ ସେ ପୁରୁଷ ଓ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଉଭୟେ ମୃତ୍ଯୁଦଣ୍ଡ ପାଇବେ। ସମାନେେ ନିଜର ଅପରାଧ ପାଇଁ ଦାଯୀ ରହିବେ। ସହେି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ତା'ର ପିତାର ଅଟେ।
