କିନ୍ତୁ ସହେି ନଫୁସକାଧିପତି ଦାନିୟେଲଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ମୁଁ ମାରେମୁନିବ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଭୟ କରେ। ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସେ ଆଦେଶ କରିଥିବା ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଓ ପାନୀଯ ଗ୍ରହଣ ନକର, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ରୁଗ୍ଣ ଦଖାୟିବେ ଓ ଦୁର୍ବଳ ଅନୁଭବ କରିବ। ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଶୁଖିଲା ଦଖାୟୋଅ, ରାଜା ମାେ ଉପ ରେ ରାଗିବେ ଏବଂ ମାରେମୁଣ୍ତ କାଟ କରିବେ। ତା'ପ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଏହି ଅପରାଧ ପାଇଁ ଦୋଷୀ ସାବ୍ଯସ୍ତ ହବେ।

And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.

And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your food and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse looking than the youths that are of your own age? so would ye endanger my head with the king.
