Luke 10
1 ଏହାପରେ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଆଉ ବାସ୍ତରି ଜଣ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ବାଛିଲେ। ଯେଉଁ ଯେଉଁ ନଗର ଓ ସ୍ଥାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ତାହାଙ୍କର ୟିବାର ଯୋଜନା ଥିଲା, ସହେି ନଗର ଓ ସ୍ଥାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଦୁଇ ଦୁଇ ଜଣ ହିସାବ ରେ ନିଜେ ୟିବା ଆଗରୁ ପଠାଇ ଦେଲେ।
2 ଯୀଶୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ଅମଳ ହବୋକୁ ପ୍ରଚୁର ଫସଲ ପଡି ରହିଛି। କିନ୍ତୁ ମୂଲିଆ ଖୁବ କମ୍। ତେଣୁ ଫସଲର ମାଲିକଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କର ଯେ, ସେ ଯେପରି ତାହାଙ୍କର ଫସଲ କାଟିବା ପାଇଁ କାମ କରିବାକୁ ଅଧିକ ମୂଲିଆ ପଠାଇବେ।
3 ଯାଅ, କିନ୍ତୁ ମନରେଖ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗଧିଆମାନଙ୍କ ମଧିଅରେ ମେଣ୍ଢାଛୁଆ ଭାବରେ ପଠାଉଛି।
4 ସାଙ୍ଗ ରେ ଟଙ୍କା, ଥଳି, ୟୋତା କିଛି ହେଲେ ନିଅନାହିଁ। ରାସ୍ତା ରେ କାହାରି ସହିତ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା ହବୋ ପାଇଁ ଅଟକି ୟିବ ନାହିଁ।
5 ଯେ କୌଣସି ଘ ରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା ମାତ୍ ରେ ପ୍ରଥମେ କୁହ, 'ଏ ଘରକୁ ଶାନ୍ତି ମିଳୁ।'
6 ଯଦି ସଠାେରେ କହେି ଶାନ୍ତି ପ୍ରିୟ ଲୋକ ଥିବ, ତବେେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଶାନ୍ତି ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ତାହାକୁ ମିଳିବ। ଯଦି ସଠାେରେ କହେି ଶାନ୍ତି ପ୍ରିୟ ଲୋକ ନଥିବ, ତବେେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଶାନ୍ତି ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଫରେି ଆସିବ।
7 ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଶାନ୍ତି ଥିବା ଘ ରେ ରୁହ। ସେ ଲୋକମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ୟହା ଦବେେ ତାହା ଖାଅ ଓ ପିଅ। କାରଣ କାମ କରିବା ଲୋକର ତା' ବତନେ ଉପରେ ଅଧିକାର ଅଛି। ଅନ୍ୟ ଘ ରେ ରହିବା ପାଇଁ ସହେି ଘର ଛାଡି ଯାଅନାହିଁ।
8 ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଗୋଟିଏ ନଗରକୁ ଯାଅ ଓ ସଠାେରେ ଯଦି ଲୋକେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ବାଗତ କରନ୍ତି, ତବେେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କେୁ ସମାନେେ ଯାହା ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଦିଅନ୍ତି, ତାହା ଖାଅ।
9 ସଠାେରେ ରହୁଥିବା ଲୋଗୀଙ୍କୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ କର। ତା'ପରେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କୁହ, 'ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ଯ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଖୁବ୍ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଆସି ପହଞ୍ଚିଯାଉଛି।'
10 କିନ୍ତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଯଦି ଏଭଳି ଏକ ନଗରକୁ ଯାଅ ଓ ସଠାେରେ ଲୋକେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସ୍ବାଗତ ନକରନ୍ତି, ତବେେ ସହେି ନଗରର ଗଳିମାନଙ୍କ ରେ ଯାଅ ଏବଂ କୁହ,
11 ଆମ୍ଭର ପାଦ ରେ ଲାଗିଥିବା ଏହି ଧୂଳିତକ ମଧ୍ଯ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଏହିଠା ରେ ଝାଡି ଦଇେ ଯାଉଛୁ।' ତଥାପି ମନରେଖ, 'ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଖୁବ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଆସୁଛି।'
12 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଛି ଯେ ବିଚାର ହବୋ ଦିନ ସହେି ନଗରର ଲୋକମନଙ୍କର ଦଶା ସଦୋମର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଦଶା ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକ ଖରାପ ହବେ।
13 ହାୟ କୋରାଜିନ୍! ହାୟ ବେଥ୍ସାଇଦା! ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧିଅରେ ମୁଁ ଅନକେ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ୍ଯକର୍ମ ଦଖାଇେଛି। ଯଦି ଏଗୁଡିକ ସୋର ଓ ସୀଦୋନ ରେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କରା ଯାଇଥାଆନ୍ତା, ତବେେ କବେଠାରୁେ ସମାନେେ ନିଜର ହୃଦୟ ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ କରି ସାରିଥାଆନ୍ତେ ଓ ପାପ କରିବା ଛାଡି ଦଇେଥାଆନ୍ତେ। ସମାନେେ ନିଜ ନିଜ ପାପ ପାଇଁ ଅନୁତାପ କରିଥିବା କଥା ଦଖାଇବୋ ପାଇଁ ତାର ପ୍ରତୀକ ସ୍ବରୁପ ଅଖା ରେ ତିଆରି ଶୋକବସ୍ତ୍ର ଧାରଣ କରିଥାଆନ୍ତେ ଓ ମୁଣ୍ଡ ରେ ପାଉଁଶ ବୋଳି ହାଇେଥାଆନ୍ତେ।
14 ବିଚାର ଦିନ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଦଶା ସୋର ଓ ସୀଦୋନର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଦଶା ଅପାକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକ ଖରାପ ହବେ।
15 ଏବଂ ହେ କଫର୍ନାହୂମ! ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କ'ଣ ସ୍ବର୍ଗ ଯେତେ ଉଚ୍ଚ, େସତେ ଉଚ୍ଚକୁ ଉଠାୟିବ? ନା, ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ନର୍କ ଯେତେ ନୀଚ୍ଚ ସହେିପରି ନୀଚ୍ଚ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଅଣାୟିବ।
16 ଯେତବେେଳେ କୌଣସି ଲୋକ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ କଥା ଶୁଣେ, ସେ ପ୍ରକୃତ ରେ ମାେ କଥା ଶୁଣେ। ଯେତବେେଳେ ଜଣେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବାକୁ ମନା କରେ, ସେ ପ୍ରକୃତ ରେ ମାେତେ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବାକୁ ମନା କରିଦିଏ ଏବଂ ଯେତବେେଳେ ଜଣେ ମାେତେ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବାକୁ ମନା କରେ, ସେ ପ୍ରକୃତ ରେ ମାେତେ ପଠାଇଥିବା ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବାକୁ ମନା କରିଦିଏ।
17 ଯେତବେେଳେ ବାସ୍ତରି ଜଣ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଭ୍ରମଣରୁ ଫରେି ଆସିଲେ, ସମାନେେ ବହୁତ ଖୁସି ଥିଲେ। ସମାନେେ କହିଲେ, ପ୍ରଭୁ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଯେତବେେଳେ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ନାମ ନଇେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦଲେୁ, ସେତବେେଳେ ଏପରିକି ଭୂତମାନେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ କଥା ମାନିଲେ।
18 ଏହା ଶୁଣି ଯୀଶୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ଶୟତାନକୁ ଆକାଶରୁ ବିଜୁଳି ଭଳି ଖସିଥିବାର ଦେଖିଛି।
19 ଶୁଣ! ସାପ ଓ କଙ୍କଡାବିଛାମାନଙ୍କୁ ପାଦତଳେ ଦଳି ଦବୋକୁ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶକ୍ତି ଦଇେଛି। ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଶତୃ ପାଖ ରେ ଥିବା ଶକ୍ତିଠାରୁ ଅଧିକ ଶକ୍ତି ଦଇେଛି। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର କହେି କିଛି କ୍ଷତି କରି ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ।
20 ହଁ, ଆତ୍ମାମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ କଥା ମନୁଛନ୍ତି। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଖୁସି ହୁଅ। କାହିଁକି? ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖ ରେ ଏ ଶକ୍ତି ଥିବା ଯୋଗୁ ନୁହେଁ, ବରଂ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନାମ ସ୍ବର୍ଗ ରେ ଲଖାେ ହାଇେଥିବା ୟୋଗୁ ଖୁସି ହୁଅ।
21 ତ'ପରେ ପବିତ୍ରଆତ୍ମା ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଅତ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଆନନ୍ଦିତ କରାଇଲେ। ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, ହେ ପରମପିତା! ହେ ସ୍ବର୍ଗ ଓ ପୃଥିବୀର ପ୍ରଭୁ! ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ପ୍ରଂଶସା କରୁଛି। କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏହି କଥାଗୁଡିକୁ ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ଲୁଚଇେ ରଖିଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଶିଶୁମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦଖାଇେଛ। ହେ ପରମ ପିତା! ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏହା ପ୍ରକୃତ ରେ କରିବାକୁ ଚାହୁଁଥିଲ ବୋଲି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏହା କଲ।
22 ମାରେ ପରମପିତା ମାେତେ ସବୁକିଛି ଦଇେଛନ୍ତି। ପୁତ୍ର କିଏ ଏହା ପରମପିତାଙ୍କ ବ୍ଯତୀତ ଅନ୍ୟ କହେି ଜାଣନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। ଏବଂ ପରମପିତା କିଏ ଏହା ପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କ ଛଡା କହେି ଜାଣନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। କବଳେ ସହେିମାନେ ପରମପିତାଙ୍କ ବିଷୟ ରେ ଜାଣିପାରିବେ, ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ତାହା ଜଣାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ପୁତ୍ର ସ୍ବଯଂ ବାଛିବେ।
23 ତା'ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କ ଆଡକୁ ମୁହଁ ବୁଲାଇଲେ। ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସଠାେରେ କବଳେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ରହିଥିଲେ। ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଧନ୍ଯ, ଯେ ହତେୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଏହିସବୁ ବିଷୟ ଦେଖିଲ।
24 ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ କହୁଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଏବେ ଯାହା ଦେଖୁଛ, ତାହା ଦେଖିବା ପାଇଁ ଅନକେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ଓ ରାଜା ଚାହିଁଥିଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ସମାନେେ ଏସବୁ ଦେଖି ପରିନଥିଲେ। ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଏବେ ଯା ହେ ଶୁଣୁଛ, ତାହା ଶୁଣିବା ପାଇଁ ଅନକେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତା ଓ ରାଜା ଚାହିଁଥିଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ସମାନେେ ଏସବୁ ଶୁଣି ପାରନଥିଲେ।
25 ତା'ପରେ ଜଣେ ଧର୍ମଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଠିଆ ହେଲେ। ସେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ପରୀକ୍ଷା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରିଲେ, ଗୁରୁ, ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ଲାଭ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ମୁଁ କ'ଣ କରିବି?
26 ଏହା ଶୁଣି ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥାଶାସ୍ତ୍ର ରେ କ'ଣ ଲଖାେଅଛି? ସେଥି ହେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ ପଢୁଛ?
27 ସେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, 'ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଜର ସମସ୍ତ ହୃଦୟ, ସମସ୍ତ ଆତ୍ମା, ସମସ୍ତ ଶକ୍ତି ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ମନ ଦଇେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ ରମେ କର' ଏବଂ, 'ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିଜକୁ ପ୍ ରମେ କରିଲା ଭଳି ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ ରମେ କର।'
28 ତା'ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଠିକ୍ ଉତ୍ତର ଦଇେଛ। ଏହାହିଁ କର। ଏହା ଫଳ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅନନ୍ତଜୀବନ ଲାଭ କରିବ।
29 ନିଜେ ଠିକ୍ ଜୀବନ ଯାପନ କରୁଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ଧର୍ମଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଜଣକ ପ୍ରମାଣ କରିବାକୁ ଚାହୁଁଥିଲେ। ତେଣୁ ସେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରିଲେ, ତବେେ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ ରମେ କରିବି, ସମାନେେ କିଏ?
30 ଏହି ପ୍ରଶ୍ନର ଉତ୍ତର ଦବୋକୁ ଯାଇ ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, ଜଣେ ଲୋକ ୟିରୂଶାଲମରୁ ଯିରୀହାକେୁ ଯାଉଥିଲା। ବାଟରେ ସେ ଡକାୟତମାନଙ୍କ ହାବୁଡ ରେ ପଡିଲା। ସମାନେେ ତା' ଲୁଗାପଟା ସବୁ ଚିରି ବାହାର କରି ଓ ତାକୁ ମାଡ ମାରି ଅର୍ଦ୍ଧମୃତ ଅବସ୍ଥା ରେ ପକାଇଦଇେ ଚାଲିଗଲେ।
31 ଏପରି ଘଟିଲା ଯେ ଜଣେ ଯିହୂଦୀ ଯାଜକ ସହେି ରାସ୍ତା ଦଇେ ଯାଉଥିଲେ। ସହେି ଲୋକଟିକୁ ଦେଖି ସେ ବାଟ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ଚାଲିଗଲେ।
32 ତା'ପରେ ଜଣେ ଲବେୀୟ ସହେି ବାଟରେ ଆସିଲେ। ସେ ସହେି ଲୋକଟିକୁ ଦେଖିବା ସତ୍ତ୍ବେ ତାକୁ ସାହାୟ୍ଯ କରିବାକୁ ନଅଟକି ଚାଲିଗଲେ।
33 ତା'ପରେ ଶମିରୋଣୀୟ ଦେଶର ଜଣେ ଲୋକ ସହେି ବାଟେ ଆସିଲେ। ଆହତ ଲୋକଟି ଯେଉଁଠା ରେ ପଡିଥିଲା, ସେ ସହେି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଆସିଲେ। ସେ ସହେି ଲୋକଟିକୁ ଦେଖି ବହୁତ ମନ ଦୁଃଖ କଲେ।
34 ସେ ଆହତ ଲୋକଟି ପାଖକୁ ଗଲେ। ତା କ୍ଷତ ରେ ତଲେ ଓ ଅଙ୍ଗୁର ରସ ଢାଳି ପଟି ବାନ୍ଧି ଦେଲେ। ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖ ରେ ଗଧଟିଏ ଥିଲା। ସେ ଆହତ ଲୋକଟିକୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଗଧ ଉପରେ ବସାଇ ଗୋଟିଏ ଚଟିଘରକୁ ନଇଗେଲେ। ଚଟିଘ ରେ ସେ ଆହତ ଲୋକଟିର ଯତ୍ନ ନେଲେ।
35 ତା'ପରଦିନ ଶମିରୋଣୀୟ ଲୋକ ଜଣକ ଦୁଇଟି ରୂପାମୁଦ୍ରା ବାହାର କଲେ। ସେ ତାହା ପ୍ରାନ୍ଥଶାଳାର ଦାଯିତ୍ବ ରେ ଥିବା ଲୋକଟିକୁ ଦଇେ କହିଲେ, 'ଏହି ଆହତ ଲୋକଟିର ଯତ୍ନ ନବେ। ତା' ପାଇଁ ଯଦି ଆଉ ଅଧିକ ଟଙ୍କା ଖର୍ଚ୍ଚ ହୁଏ, ମୁଁ ଫରେିଲା ବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସତକେ ପରିଶାଧେ କରି ଦବେି।
36 ଏହାପରେ ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, ଏବେ କୁହ, ଡକାୟତମାନଙ୍କ ହାବୁଡ ରେ ପଡି ଆହତ ହାଇେଥିବା ଲୋକଟିକୁ ଏହି ତିନି ଜଣଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ କିଏ ପ୍ ରମେଭାବ ଦଖାଇେଲେ ବୋଲି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଭାବୁଛ?
37 ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଜଣକ କହିଲେ, ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଆହତ ଲୋକଟିକୁ ସାହାୟ୍ଯ କଲା।
38 ଯୀଶୁଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ଯାତ୍ରା କରୁଥିବା ଅବସର ରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ଗାଁକୁ ଯୀଶୁ ଗଲେ। ମାର୍ଥା ନାମକ ଜଣେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ନିଜ ଘରକୁ ସ୍ବାଗତ କଲା।
39 ମାର୍ଥାର ମରିୟମ ନାମ ରେ ଗୋଟିଏ ଭଉଣୀ ଥିଲା। ମରିୟମ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପାଦ ପାଖ ରେ ବସି ତାହାଙ୍କ ଉପଦେଶ ଶୁଣୁଥିଲା, କିନ୍ତୁ ମାର୍ଥା ଘରର ସବୁ କାମ କରୁଥିଲା।
40 ମାର୍ଥାକୁ ବହୁତ ଗୁଡାଏ କାମ କରିବାକୁ ପଡୁଥିବାରୁ ସେ ରାଗିଗଲା। ସେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି କହିଲା, ପ୍ରଭୁ! ମାେ ଭଉଣୀ ଘରର ଯେ ସବୁ କାମ ମାେ ଉପରେ ଛାଡି ଦଇେଛି, ଏ ବିଷୟ ରେ କ'ଣ ଆପଣଙ୍କର ମନୋୟୋଗ ନାହିଁ? ଏଣୁ ତାହାକୁ କୁହନ୍ତୁ ଯେ ସେ ମାେତେ ସାହାୟ୍ଯ କରୁ।
41 ଯୀଶୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ମାର୍ଥା, ହେ ମାର୍ଥା, ବହୁତ ଗୁଡାଏ କଥା ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବ୍ଯସ୍ତ ଓ ଚିନ୍ତିତ ଅଛ।
42 କିନ୍ତୁ ଗୋଟିଏ ଜିନିଷ ସବୁଠାରୁ ସହତ୍ତ୍ବପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ। ମରିୟମ ନିଜ ପାଇଁ ଠିକ୍ ଜିନିଷଟି ପସନ୍ଦ କରିଛ ଏବଂ ଏହା ତା'ଠାରୁ ଛଡଇେ ନିଆୟିବନାହିଁ।
1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.
16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
2 Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste.
3 I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
4 Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
5 That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
6 Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
7 Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
8 He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
9 The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
10 His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.
11 His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
12 Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;
13 Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:
14 Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
15 He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
16 He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper’s tongue shall slay him.
17 He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.
18 That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.
19 Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
20 Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.
21 There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
22 In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.
23 When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.
24 He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.
25 It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.
26 All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
27 The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
28 The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
29 This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
