ପୀଲାତ ଜାଣିଥିଲେ ଯେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଇର୍ଷାପରାୟଣ ଥିଲେ। ସେଥିପାଇଁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ହାତ ରେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ସମର୍ପି ଦଇେଛନ୍ତି।
