ପ୍ରଥମ ଶାମୁୟେଲ 5
1 ଏଥି ମଧିଅରେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପବିତ୍ର ସିନ୍ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟକ ନଇେ ଏବନ୍-ଏଜରରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଅସ୍ଦୋଦକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ୟାଇଥିଲେ।
2 ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପବିତ୍ର ସିନ୍ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟକ ନଇେ ଦାଗୋନ ମନ୍ଦିରକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଆଣି ଦାଗୋନ ଦବେତା ନିକଟରେ ରଖିଲେ।
3 ତହିଁ ପରଦିନ ଅସ୍ଦୋଦର ଲୋକମାନେ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଉଠିଲେ ଏବଂ ଦେଖିଲେ, ଦାଗୋନ୍ର ମୂର୍ତ୍ତୀ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସିନ୍ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟକ ସମ୍ମକ୍ସ୍ଟଖ ରେ ମକ୍ସ୍ଟହଁମାଡି ଭୂମିରେ ପଡିଅଛି। ଦାଗୋନ୍ର ଲୋକମାନେ ପକ୍ସ୍ଟନର୍ବାର ଉଠାଇ ସ୍ଥାନ ରେ ରଖିଲେ।
4 ତା'ପରେ ପକ୍ସ୍ଟଣି ସମାନେେ ପରଦିନ ପ୍ରଭାତ ରେ ଯେତବେେଳେ ଉଠିଲେ ଦାଗୋନ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ପବିତ୍ର ସିନ୍ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟକ ସମ୍ମକ୍ସ୍ଟଖ ରେ ମକ୍ସ୍ଟହଁ ମାଡି ଭୂମିରେ ପଡିଥିଲା ଏବଂ ବାହକ୍ସ୍ଟଗକ୍ସ୍ଟଡିକ ଓ ମକ୍ସ୍ଟଣ୍ତ କଟା ହାଇେଥିଲା ଏବଂ ଦ୍ବାରବନ୍ଧ ଉପରେ ପଡିଥିଲା। କିନ୍ତୁ ତାହାର ଗଣ୍ତି ଗୋଟିଏ ଖଣ୍ତ ହାଇେ ରହିଥିଲା।
5 ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଦାଗୋନର ଯାଜକମାନେ ଅବା ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଦାଗୋନ ମନ୍ଦିରକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଆସନ୍ତି, ସମାନେେ ଆଜି ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଅସ୍ଦୋଦସ୍ଥିତ ଦାଗୋନ ମନ୍ଦିରର ଦ୍ବାରବନ୍ଧକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ମାଡନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।
6 ଅସ୍ଦୋଦୀଯ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପଡ଼ୋଶୀମାନଙ୍କର ଜୀବନକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କଠିନ କରି ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ନାନା କଷ୍ଟ ଦେଲେ। ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଅର୍ଶ ରୋଗ ରେ ଆଘାତ କଲେ। ସେ ମଧ୍ଯ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପାଇଁ ମୂଷାଗକ୍ସ୍ଟଡିକ ପଠଇେଲେ, ଯାହାକି ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଜାହାଜଗକ୍ସ୍ଟଡିକରେ ଓ ଦେଶ ରେ ଭର୍ତ୍ତୀ ହାଇଗେଲେ। ଫଳ ରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଡରିଗଲେ।
7 ଏହିପରି ଅସ୍ଦୋଦୀଯ ଲୋକମାନେ ଯାହାସବୁ ଘଟିଯାଉଥିଲା ଦେଖିଲେ ଏବଂ କହିଲେ, ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପବିତ୍ର ସିନ୍ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟକ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ରହିବ ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭ ଦବେତା ଦାଗୋନ୍ ଉପରେ ତାଙ୍କର ହସ୍ତ ନିଷ୍ଠକ୍ସ୍ଟର ହାଇେଅଛି।
8 ଏଣୁ ସମାନେେ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସମସ୍ତ ଅଧିପତିଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଏକତ୍ରିତ କରି କହିଲେ, ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପବିତ୍ର ସିନ୍ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟକ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ କ'ଣ କରିବା?
9 ପକ୍ସ୍ଟଣି ସମାନେେ ତାହା ନଇଗେଲା ପରେ ଏହା ଏପରି ହେଲା, ଯେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ଗାଥ ନଗରକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଭୟ ଓ ୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ରେ ଆଘାତ କଲା; ପକ୍ସ୍ଟଣି ସେ ନଗରସ୍ଥ ସାନ ଓ ବଡ ଉଭୟଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ସେ କ୍ଲେଶ ଦେଲେ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେଠା ରେ ଅର୍ଶ ରୋଗ ବାହାରିଲା।
10 ଏହାପରେ ସମାନେେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପବିତ୍ର ସିନ୍ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟକ ଇକ୍ରୋଣକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ପଠାଇଲେ। ଯେତବେେଳେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ପବିତ୍ର ସିନ୍ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟକ ଆସିଲା।
11 ଏ ହତେକ୍ସ୍ଟ ସମାନେେ ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସମସ୍ତ ଅଧିପତିଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଏକତ୍ରୀତ କରି କହିଲେ, ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପବିତ୍ର ସିନ୍ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟକ ପଠାଇ ଦିଅ, ତାହା ସ୍ବସ୍ଥାନକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଫରେିଯାଉ। ତାହା ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଲୋକକୁ ହତ୍ଯା ନ କରୁ, କାରଣ ନଗରର ସବୁଆଡେ ମୃତକ୍ସ୍ଟ୍ଯଜନିତ ବ୍ଯାକକ୍ସ୍ଟଳତା ଜନ୍ମି ଥିଲା। ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ସଠାେରେ ଅତି ଭାରି ଥିଲା।
12 ପକ୍ସ୍ଟଣି ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକମାନେ ମଲେ ନାହିଁ, ସମାନେେ ଅର୍ଶ ରୋଗ ରେ ପୀଡିତ ହେଲେ; ଆଉ ନଗରର ଆର୍ତ୍ତଦାନ ସ୍ବର୍ଗକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଉଠିଲା।
1 And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Eben-ezer unto Ashdod.
2 When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.
3 And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the Lord. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.
4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.
5 Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.
6 But the hand of the Lord was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.
7 And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.
8 They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto them, and said, What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And they answered, Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath. And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about thither.
9 And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the Lord was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.
10 Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.
11 So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.
12 And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
