ହିଜକିଯଙ୍କର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ବୃତ୍ତାନ୍ତ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ପରାକ୍ରମ ସେ କିପରି ପୁଷ୍କରିଣୀ ଓ ନାଳ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରି ନଗର ମଧ୍ଯକୁ ଜଳ ଆଣିଲେ, ଏ ସମସ୍ତ ଯିହୁଦା ରାଜବଂଶର ଇତିହାସ ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ଲିଖିତ ହାଇେଅଛି।

ହିଜକିଯ ହିଁ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ରେ ଗୀହାନେ ଝରଣାର ଉର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ବସ୍ଥ ଉତ୍ସକୁ ବନ୍ଦ କଲେ ଓ ସହେି ଜଳକୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ନଗରର ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ପାଶର୍ବ ରେ ସଳଖ ଭାବରେ ନିମ୍ନଗାମୀ କଲେ। ଆଉ ହିଜକିଯ ଯେଉଁ ସମସ୍ତ କର୍ମ କଲେ, ସେଥି ରେ ସଫଳ ହେଲେ।

ଦାଉଦ ନଗରର କାନ୍ଥଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଭାଙ୍ଗିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲା ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସହେି ଭଗ୍ନସ୍ଥାନ ଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଦେଖିଲ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପୁଷ୍କରିଣୀର ଜଳସବୁ ଏକତ୍ର କରି ତଳକୁ ଆଣିଲ।

ଅନକେ ଲୋକ ଏକତ୍ର ଆସିଲେ ଓ ଦେଶ ମଧ୍ଯ ଦଇେ ପ୍ରବାହିତ ହେଉଥିବା ଝରଣା ଓ ନଦୀ ସବୁର ଜଳକୁ ରୋକି ଦେଲେ। ସମାନେେ କହିଲେ ଯେ, ଅଶୂରର ରାଜା ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଆସିଲେ ବେଶୀ କିଛି ଜଳ ପାଇବ ନାହିଁ।
