Esther 3:1
ଏହିସବୁ ଘଟଣା ପରେ ଅକ୍ଷଶ୍ବରେଶ ରାଜା ଅଗାଗୀଯ ହମ୍ମଦାଥାର ପୁତ୍ର ହାମନକୁ ଉନ୍ନତ କରି ଉଚ୍ଚ ପଦାନ୍ବିତ କଲା। ଆଉ ତାହାର ସଙ୍ଗେ ସମସ୍ତ ଅଧିପତିର ଆସନ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ତାକୁ ଶ୍ ରେଷ୍ଠ ଆସନ ଦଲୋ।

ସହେି ରାଜା ତିନିଜଣ ତଦାରଖକାରୀଙ୍କୁ ସୁବଦୋର ଉପ ରେ ନିୟୁକ୍ତ କଲେ, ଯେପରି ସମାନେେ ରାଜାଙ୍କୁ ଠକି ନପାରିବେ ଓ କ୍ଷତି ସହି ପାରିବେ। ଏହି ତିନିଜଣ ନିରୀକ୍ଷକ ମଧିଅରେ ଦାନିୟେଲ ଥିଲେ ଅନ୍ୟତମ।

ଏଷ୍ଟର ରାଜା ନିକଟରେ ପୁନର୍ବାର ନିବଦନେ କଲା, ପୁଣି ୟିହୁଦୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳ ରେ ଅଗାଗୀଯ ହାମନର କୃତ ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ଓ ତାର କଳ୍ପିତ କଳ୍ପନା ନିବାରାଣାର୍ଥେ ତାହାର ଚରଣ ରେ ପଡି ରୋଦନ କରି ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କଲା।

ଏଜ୍ରା, ମୁଁ ଏବଂ ମାରେ ସାତଜଣ ଉପଦେଷ୍ଟା ତୁମ୍ଭ ସହିତ ପଠାଉଛୁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ୟିରୁଶାଲମକୁ ୟିବା ଉଚିତ୍। ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ବିଷଯବସ୍ତୁଗୁଡିକରେ ଧ୍ଯାନ ଦବୋ ଉଚିତ୍, ଯେଉଁଥି ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜଣେ ବିଜ୍ଞ ଅଟ।

ସେ ଅମାଲକେୀଯ ରାଜା ଅଗାଗ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଜୀବନ୍ତ ଧରିଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ତାଙ୍କ ସନୋବୀହିନୀର ଅନ୍ୟ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କକ୍ସ୍ଟ ହତ୍ଯା କଲେ।
