நீதிமொழிகள் 8
1 ஞானம் கூப்பிடுகிறதில்லையோ? புத்தி சத்தமிடுகிறதில்லையோ?
2 அது வழியருகேயுள்ள மேடைகளிலும், நாற்சந்திகளிலும் நிற்கிறது.
3 அது ஊர்வாசல்களின் ஓரத்திலும், பட்டணத்தின் முகப்பிலும், நடை கூடங்களிலும் நின்று சத்தமிட்டு:
4 மனுஷரே, உங்களை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறேன்; என் சத்தம் மனுபுத்திரருக்குத் தொனிக்கும்.
5 பேதைகளே விவேகம் அடையுங்கள்; மூடர்களே, புத்தியுள்ள சிந்தையாயிருங்கள்.
6 கேளுங்கள், மேம்பாடான காரியங்களைப் பேசுவேன்; என் உதடுகள் உத்தமகாரியங்களை வசனிக்கும்.
7 என் வாய் சத்தியத்தை விளம்பும், ஆகாமியம் என் உதடுகளுக்கு அருவருப்பானது.
8 என் வாயின் வாக்குகளெல்லாம் நீதியானவைகள்; அவைகளில் புரட்டும் விபரீதமும் இல்லை.
9 அவைகளெல்லாம் புத்தியுள்ளவனுக்குத் தெளிவும், ஞானத்தைப் பெற்றவர்களுக்கு யதார்த்தமுமாயிருக்கும்.
10 வெள்ளியைப்பார்க்கிலும் என் புத்திமதியையும், பசும்பொன்னைப் பார்க்கிலும் ஞானத்தையும் அங்கீகரித்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.
11 முத்துக்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் ஞானமே நல்லது; இச்சிக்கப்படத்தக்கவைகளெல்லாம் அதற்கு நிகரல்ல.
1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
9 They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
