ਪਰ ਅਗਲੇ ਹੀ ਦਿਨ ਜੋ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਦਿਨ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਸੀ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਖਾਲੀ ਸੀ। ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਕੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਯੱਸੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਵੇਂ ਚੰਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਵਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ?”
