ਪਰ ਨਾਦਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਅਬੀਹੂ ਬੇਔਲਾਦੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਈਥਾਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ’ਚ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ।

Numbers 26:61
ਪਰ ਨਾਦਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਅਬੀਹੂ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਹੋਮ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
Exodus 24:1
ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ, ਹਾਰੂਨ, ਨਾਦਾਬ, ਅਬੀਹੂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸੱਤਰ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਪਰਬਤ ਕੋਲ ਆਕੇ ਦੂਰ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
Exodus 24:9
ਤਾਂ ਮੂਸਾ, ਹਾਰੂਨ, ਨਾਦਾਬ, ਅਬੀਹੂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ 70 ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਪਰਬਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਗਏ।

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਮਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਪੇਟੀਆਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣੀਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਨਣ ਲਈ ਖਾਸ ਟੋਪੀਆਂ ਦੇਣੀਆਂ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਹ ਜਾਜਕ ਬਨਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਖਾਸ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਇਹੀ ਉਹ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਜਕ ਥਾਪੇਂਗਾ।
Leviticus 10:12
ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਹੋਰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ, ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਈਥਮਾਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹਾਲੇ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ। ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾੜੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਅਨਾਜ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਬਚ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਨਾਜ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਖਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਮੀਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਭੇਟ ਅੱਤ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ।
Numbers 16:39
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੇ ਤਾਂਬੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਧੂਫ਼ਦਾਨ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲਿਆਂਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੜ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਧੂਫ਼ਦਾਨ ਬਚ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਧੂਫ਼ਦਾਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਡ ਕੇ ਚਪਟਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਧਾਤ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਰੇ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Numbers 18:7
ਪਰ, ਹਾਰੂਨ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੀ ਜਾਜਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅੱਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਸਥਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਗਾਤ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ-ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਜਾਜਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਨੂੰ। ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਅਵੱਸ਼ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਏਗਾ।”
