2 Chronicles 31:2
ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਿਆਂ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਦਲ ਦਾ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਮ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਤਾਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਤੋਂ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ। ਤਾਂ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੁੜ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚਲੀ ਸੇਵਾ, ਗਾਉਣ-ਵਜਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਜਸ ਦਾ ਗਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਤੋਂ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਤੀਕ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਸੰਗੀਤ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੇ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਸਾਫ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਸ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਆਸਾਫ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੇਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਦੂਥੂਨ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਾਸ ਕੰਮ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਅਗੰਮੀ ਵਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਬਤਾਂ, ਦਿਲਰੁਬਾ, ਛੈਣਿਆਂ ਆਦਿ ਸਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੀਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਣਾ ਸੀ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੈ:

ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਮਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਸੀ।
