ਹਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਫ਼ੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਧਸਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖੀ ਤੇ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਏ। ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗਿਬਉਨ ਵਿੱਚਲੀ ਇਹ ਥਾਂ “ਤਿੱਖੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਖੇਤ ਕਹਾਊਂਦੀ ਹੈ।”

ਅਬਨੇਰ ਨੇ ਯੋਆਬ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੌਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੋਈ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਿਖਾਉਣ।” ਯੋਆਬ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹਾਂ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਵਿਖਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।”
