ਤਦ ਸ਼ਮਆਯਾਹ ਨਬੀ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਵੇਂ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ: “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।”

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਦਾਸ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ “ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ, ਕੋਈ ਨਬੀ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਜਕ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਬੋਝ ਕੀ ਹੈ?’ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇਵੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਖੇਂਗਾ, ‘ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਭਾਰੀ ਬੋਝ ਹੋ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਬੋਝ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਟ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।’ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ।
Jeremiah 5:19
ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਣਗੇ, ‘ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਮੰਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ?’ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇਣਾ: ‘ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।’”

Jeremiah 2:19
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਹੀ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਆਵੇਗੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਬਕ ਸਿੱਖਾਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੋਚੋ! ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲ ਮੁਖ ਮੋੜਨਾ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਮੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭੈਭੀਤ ਨਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਦਰ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਹੈ।” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ।
Psalm 37:33
ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਚੰਗੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬੇਮੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਜਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਕ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਇਉਂ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਨੇਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

“ਅਤੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਤੂੰ, ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ। ਤਹਿ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਛਿੱਤ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਰੀਖਿਆ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਣ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮਦਦ ਮੰਗੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਵਾਬ ਪਾਵੋਗੇ ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬੇਮੁਖ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਤਿਲਾਂਜਲੀ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
2 Samuel 24:14
ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਗਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਬੜਾ ਦਿਆਲੂ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੰਡ ਦੇਣ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦੰਡਿਤ ਹੋਣਾ ਪਵੇ ਸੋ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਹੀ ਦੰਡਿਤ ਹੋਵਾਂ।”
Judges 10:9
ਫ਼ੇਰ ਅੰਮੋਨੀ ਲੋਕ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਰ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਗਏ। ਅੰਮੋਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਕਲੀਫ਼ਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
