ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਗ਼ਲਤੀ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ਼ਮਆਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਝੀ ਆ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਬਚਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉੱਪਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਕਰੋਧ ਵਰਸਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਕ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।

Isaiah 42:25
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਖਤ ਲੜਾਈਆਂ ਕਰਾਈਆਂ। ਇਉਂ ਲਗਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਘਿਰੇ ਹੋਣ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਵਾਪਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਸੜ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਵਾਪਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
Psalm 79:6
ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਮੋੜ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ। ਆਪਣਾ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਮੋੜ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ।
Psalm 78:38
ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਯਾਵਾਨ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਬਖਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਾਰ ਰੋਕਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਕੀ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਪੋਥੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ, ਜੋ ਲੱਭੀ ਹੈ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛ ਗਿੱਛ ਕਰੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਕਰੋਪੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਵੱਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇਸ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁਕਮ ਸੀ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਉਵੇਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।”

ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਦਯਾ ਤਦ ਯਹੋਆਹਾਜ਼ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਲਿਆ। ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਅਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ।

ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੰਨ ਲੈਣ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ਸਾਂ। ਪਰ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਣ।
