ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਹਨਾਨੀ ਨਬੀ ਆਸਾ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਆਸਾ, ਤੂੰ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਉੱਪਰ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ, ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਬਚ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

Isaiah 31:1
ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਮਿਸਰ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖੋ। ਲੋਕ ਘੋੜੇ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਨੇ ਕਿ ਘੋੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਣਗੇ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਰੱਥ ਅਤੇ ਘੋੜਸਵਾਰ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਲੋਕ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਹੈ। ਲੋਕ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰੱਖ (ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ) ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ। ਲੋਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਗਦੇ।
Ephesians 1:12
ਅਸੀਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਸੀਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਮੀਦ ਰੱਖੀ। ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੀਏ।
Jeremiah 17:5
ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਨਗੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਨਗੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਲਈ, ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ। ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Isaiah 32:2
ਜੇ ਇਉਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਮੀਂਹ ਹਨੇਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਖੁਸ਼ਕ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਗਰਮੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਦੀ ਛਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
Psalm 146:3
ਆਪਣੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ।

ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ, ਰਊਬੇਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਦ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਨ ਨੇ ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਗਰੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ। ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਗਰੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਗਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਹਰਾਇਆ।
2 Kings 18:5
ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਸੀ। ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
