ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਲੋਕ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੁੰਮੇ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਸਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਵੱਢਣ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਣ।

For	כִּֽי	kî	kee
there were many	רַבַּ֥ת	rabbat	ra-BAHT
in the congregation	בַּקָּהָ֖ל	baqqāhāl	ba-ka-HAHL
that	אֲשֶׁ֣ר	ʾăšer	uh-SHER
not were	לֹֽא	lōʾ	loh
sanctified:	הִתְקַדָּ֑שׁוּ	hitqaddāšû	heet-ka-DA-shoo
therefore the Levites	וְהַלְוִיִּ֞ם	wĕhalwiyyim	veh-hahl-vee-YEEM
of charge the had	עַל	ʿal	al
killing the	שְׁחִיטַ֣ת	šĕḥîṭat	sheh-hee-TAHT
of the passovers	הַפְּסָחִ֗ים	happĕsāḥîm	ha-peh-sa-HEEM
for every one	לְכֹל֙	lĕkōl	leh-HOLE
not was that	לֹ֣א	lōʾ	loh
clean,	טָה֔וֹר	ṭāhôr	ta-HORE
to sanctify	לְהַקְדִּ֖ישׁ	lĕhaqdîš	leh-hahk-DEESH
them unto the Lord.	לַֽיהוָֽה׃	layhwâ	LAI-VA
