ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਫ਼ਸਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦੇਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਹੁਕਮ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦੇਣ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰਾ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।

Leviticus 27:30
“ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਫ਼ਸਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਸਵਾਂ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ।

ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਜੋ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਵੀ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਇਤਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਂ ਦਰਜ ਸੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪੀ ਗਈ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਹਰ ਲੇਵੀ ਦਲ ਦੀ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੀ ਜੁੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਸੀ।
Nehemiah 13:10
ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੇਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਵਈਏ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਮੁੜ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
Malachi 3:8
“ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਚੋ ਠੱਗਣਾ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੋ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਚੋ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੁਰਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਠੱਗੀ ਕੀਤੀ। “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਭਲਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀ ਚੁਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ?’ “ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਸਵੰਧ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਖਾਸ ਤੋਹਫ਼ੇ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਨੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
1 Corinthians 9:9
ਹਾਂ, ਇਹ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ: “ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਡੰਗਰ ਦਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਹਾਈ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਣੇ ਖਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਰੋਕੋ।” ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਕੇਵਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਸੋਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ? ਨਹੀਂ।
