ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਗਿਆ। ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਲੋਕ, ਜਾਜਕ ਲੇਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਆਮ ਲੋਕ ਸਭ ਗਏ। ਯੋਸੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਏ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੱਭੀ ਸੀ।

ਅਜ਼ਰਾ ਨੇ ਬਿਵਸਬਾ ਪੜ੍ਹੀ ਇਉਂ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਅੱਠਵੇਂ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਜਲ ਫ਼ਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕੋ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਜ਼ਰਾ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਬਾ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।

‘ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਥਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਰੋਪੀ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਇਸ ਪੋਥੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਇੱਥੇ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ।

ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੋਥੀ ਸੌਂਪੀ ਹੈ।” ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਪੋਥੀ ਯੋਸੀਯਾਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਈ।

ਤਦ ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਮੁਨਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਲੱਭੀ ਹੈ!” ਹਿਲਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਪੋਥੀ ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

Deuteronomy 17:18

ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਸੋਚੋ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਦਾ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।’

ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਪੱਤਰੀ ਲਈ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਖਾਸ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਈ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਨਣ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ।”
