ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਧਰਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤਾਂ ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ, ਯੋਸੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਯੋਸੀਯਾਹ ਜਿੰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਲੋਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਰਹੇ।

of Israel, יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ yiśrāʾēl yees-ra-ALE
to serve, וַֽיַּעֲבֵ֗ד ʿābad ah-VAHD
and made אֵ֤ת ʾēt ate
all כָּל kōl kole
that were present הַנִּמְצָא֙ māṣāʾ ma-TSA
in Israel בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל yiśrāʾēl yees-ra-ALE
to serve לַֽעֲב֖וֹד ʿābad ah-VAHD
אֶת ʾēt ate
the Lord יְהוָ֣ה yĕhōwâ yeh-hoh-VA
their God. אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם ʾĕlōhîm ay-loh-HEEM
all כָּל kōl kole
his days יָמָ֕יו yôm yome
not לֹ֣א lōʾ loh
they departed סָ֔רוּ sûr soor
from following מֵֽאַחֲרֵ֕י ʾaḥar ah-HAHR
the Lord, יְהוָ֖ה yĕhōwâ yeh-hoh-VA
the God אֱלֹהֵ֥י ʾĕlōhîm ay-loh-HEEM
of their fathers. אֲבֽוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ ʾāb av
