Exodus 2:22
ਸਿੱਪੋਰਾ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗੇਰਸ਼ੋਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਾਈ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਜਨਬੀ ਸੀ।

Exodus 22:21
“ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖੋ, ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਨਾ ਦਿਓ ਜਾਂ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਨਾ ਪੁਚਾਓ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ।
Psalm 119:19

ਮੂਸਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਲੇਵੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ ਸਨ।
