Judges 3:15
ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਇਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਏਹੂਦ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਗੇਰਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੱਬੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਏਹੂਦ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਗਾਤ ਦੇਕੇ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਅਗਲੋਨ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ।

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਥਨੀਏਲ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਕਨਜ਼, ਕਾਲੇਬ ਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਭਰਾ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਅਥਨੀਏਲ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ 700 ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵੀ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੱਬੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਲੇਲ ਨੂੰ ਬੜੀ ਕੁਸ਼ਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਬਿਨਾ ਚੂਕਿਆਂ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਅਚੂਕ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਲਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਸਨ।
Jeremiah 33:3
“ਯਹੂਦਾਹ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸੁਣਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਭੇਤ ਦੱਸਾਂਗਾ। ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ।
Jeremiah 29:12

ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਫ਼ਸਾਦੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬਚਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ?” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੋਹਫ਼ੇ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਕਿਹਾ। ਨਾਹਾਸ਼, ਅੰਮੋਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਅੰਮੋਨ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਾਹਾਸ਼, ਗਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਰਊਬੇਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਖੜੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਨਾਹਾਸ਼ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਸੱਜੀ ਅੱਖ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਸੱਜੀ ਅੱਖ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ 7,000 ਆਦਮੀ ਅੰਮੋਨੀਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਬਚ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਬੇਸ਼ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਗਏ।
