ਚਾਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਜਿਸ਼ ਰਚੀ।

ਅਹੀਥੋਫ਼ਲ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਗਿਲੋਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਹੀਥੋਫ਼ਲ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਲੋਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੁਲਾਵਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਬੜੀਆਂ ਸਹੀ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲੋਕ ਉਸਦਾ ਸਾਬ ਦੇਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ।

ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅਹੀਥੋਫ਼ਲ ਵੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਲਕੇ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ।” ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਅਹੀਥੋਫ਼ਲ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਰੱਖਤਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਉਲਟਾਅ ਦੇ।”
